Jerry Doyle was most known for his role, security chief Michael Garibaldi in Babylon 5. While a lot of my friends were Trekkies, I enjoyed Babylon 5. The digital effects were in its beginnings and you can clearly see it in the series, but in contrast to the other sci-fi series this one told an ongoing story. That gave it a lot more depth. And Jerry Doyle played his character so refreshingly normal. Problems with alcohol, problems with women, decisions that were not either black or white, etc.

The strange thing is that a tv channel just started a new round of the series and had inserts of some of the actors, advertising the series, Jerry Doyle among them. When I saw him I thought that he doesn't look well, instead as if seriously sick. I must admit that I thought of alcoholism.

However, I will remember the last sentence I heard from him, taking it as an order: "Watch Babylon 5, the fucking best sci-fi series ever made!"

Thank you, Jerry Doyle, and may you rest in piece.

CGI wasnt as good as Star Trek but the stories were really good.
    RIP.
