I would like to ask ideas about how to effectively organize my software related to video !
editors,fx,plugins.....
should i keep all the editors to a single folder and the plugins to another etc, or should i create a folder with a specific editor with all its related plugins.....

Installed====
From my experience, the NLE dictates the folder which has the plugins, so you can't really change it yourself.

You can try to keep project files as (un)neat as possible by having all the files you can in a single folder, though.

If you're not talking about installed===
You can organize the files however you like. Apps, plugins folders sounds good to me.

 

I have thought about this before and in the long run, I think it is best to go with the flow. The flow being where the manufacturers want to put the plugins as opposed to trying to organise things around your own (logical) system!

 

thanks for the answers , im not talking about installed , im talking about the installers.....
i was thinking that is best to have a folder lets say after effects and inside all related files.....

 

whywould you want to keep them? next time you'll need the new versions anyway.
It's not like internet is going away any time soon.
