So...as title says the Soundcloud player doesn't work, when I read a post with a Souncloud player I see just the logo on a grey background. This seems to happen with the Soundcloud's developers only, no problem with normal users. Any idea? I'm using Firefox 43.0.1

 

Did you updated flash player? Try it. I'm using v47.0 and all works fine.

 

Yes, it's updated to the latest version (21.0.0.242).

You could install Opera to test if is a browser issue. Until then you should check the ad-blocker setting.

 

The issue seems to rely in Firefox, I have disabled AdBlock but the Soundcloud player still doesn't work. No problem with IE...

 

My mom says: never, never, never use IE !!! A stupid question: are cookies allowed?

P.S.
It seems the SoundCloud player is HTML5 based and Firefox support it.

Your mom is right, mine was just a try I never used IE to surf the web. Of course cookies are allowed.

usually I help others with computer related problems, but this time I'm going crazy.

In Firefox, all soundcloud widgets aren't working anymore since some months!? Except those on soundcloud.com itself. That means, such a link throws an 404 error:

On the corresponding AZ page, where it's embedded (I guess you know where you could find it), Firebug says this:


When I open the very same page or just the link above in Chrome - everything's fine! It just happens in Firefox.

Yeah, your first answer would be: Disable all your plugin, bitch.
Thanks for that hint - I tried it more than one time, even with a reboot of the system. Nope, didn't help, noob.

So I investigated that problem further... it seems, there is kinda javascript problem, because Firebug shows this in console:

Okay, when looking for it via Google, it seems I'm not the only one - and it seems there is no solution to this right now!?

However, back to reality! I'm on Win7x64 and the soundcloud widget isn't working for me. It seems, a bunch of ppl have the same problem, but it also seems a LOT of ppl don't have this issue!?
MAYBE I changed something strange in about:config which confuses the widget!?

p.s. YES FFS, firefox, flash, plugins, whatever... all latest versions!

 

Mine's working fine.
If it is some setting in about:config you can reset those to default by deleting the user.js and prefs.js files located at
C:/Users/username/Appdata/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/

Make sure Firefox is closed when deleting these then restart the browser when done.

In the mean time I have upgraded to FireFox 47.0.1 but the problem is still there.

 

Didn't worked. Even in Firefox' "safe mode" it's not working - always "Error 404".

This is strange...

What operating system are you using? I've used Firefox with Windows 7 for years and never had this problem, and Firefox is the only browser that I ever use.

Well no, but as I said, even in "safe mode" (that means: No plugins, addons etc loaded) it doesn't work and quit with error 404.

However, please keep an eye on the javascript console as well:
