Our trainees have been busy developing an iOS app that we are delighted to announce today. Available for free through the App Store, Smart Click is a metronome that runs on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Team Lead & Product Planning Manager Lars Slowak, who assisted the trainees throughout the project, said: “Our young ones developed and marketed Smart Click with only very little help. They did exceptionally well, and the resulting app is great!”

Why on earth don't you develop for android first?

 

Hello,

Because, developing for iOS is easier and cheaper... with the current time and resources that our trainees had iOS is a clear option, it requires way less testing, the platform has way les variables.
Not like in Android where you still have many different type of devices and versions of the OS depending on the manufacturer, on iOS the OS is the same across most of the current devices.
Also despite of your graphic, iOS is leading in audio applications, because until not so long ago Android had issues with latency.

But don't get me wrong, an Android version of the application is still on the to do list.

Latency? Audio application? Ah, ok, I thought we're talking about a metronome here. Never mind!

My motivation for posting this: I, as a potential customer, always feel like being given the finger when an audio software company has ios as lead platform for mobile apps. And that tends to influence my buying interest in products of that company in general. Sure, I know I'm just a single person but I'm a single person of 80% of all mobile device users.
