I'm trying to put Win 7 Ice on an ASUS Q500A, which is originally a Win8 computer.

I'm getting this error:

Manca un driver di dispositivo necessario per l'unita CD o DVD. Se si dispone di un floppy, USB blah blah blah con il driver, inserirlo ora.

Nota: se il supporto di installazione di Seven Ice si trova nell'unita CD o DVD, per questo passagio puo essere rimosso in modo sicuro.

What driver is this thing talking about?

 

It's nothing specific, it's just a general error. It means:
"A required driver is missing for the CD/DVD unit. If you have a floppy, USB bla bla (together) with the driver, insert it now."
"Note: if the installation support for Seven Ice is inside the CD/DVD unit, for this step it can be removed in a safe way."

I think it's something along these lines. I don't think helps much but it's all it says :\

 

it doesn't, cause im not sure why it thinks a driver is missing for my cd dvd unit... im using a USB to boot up Win 7 with anyway..

is just asking "Do you have a driver on usb/floppy? Then put it in"

But you probably understood correctly the first time. Sorry my english is not the best, but I'm 100% sure that message gives you nothing useful to solve the problem

 

I've heard that it might be something with the USB 3.0 port, don't know if that is the case but some users get this error when installing from USB 3.0 ports.

 

Well, I got passed the last error... and I'm not even sure how.. lol
I now have a new error:
Impossibile installare Windows nel disco. Per il disco selezionato viene utilizzata una tabella di partizione MBR. nei sitemi EFI e possibile installare Windows esclusivamenta in dischi GPT.

 

Delete all existing partitions and create a new on one to install the ICE OS.

This will delete all your data but at this point you should already have formatted the drive.

You could also go into BIOS and disable EFI Boot Sources but if you're doing a fresh OS install I would just create a brand new partition.

Just translating:

Windows can't be installed in the disc. The selected disc requires a MBR partition table. In EFI systems it's possible to install Windows only in GPT discs.
Maybe disc here means drive.

Anyway "elimina" here means "delete / remove"

Well, I'm at the desktop but the Windows Loader says "Unsupported partition table"
so now I have to start over from the beginning

 

The HD that you're installing the OS is 750 GB right?

I messed up some settings when putting the iso onto a usb to make it bootable, that's why the error and why it asked me to delete the partitions.
I put the ssd in a usb docking station and ran some command lines through it from my main PC in order to reformat it and turn it into the right partition type which was MBR.
I also had to reformat the USB stick and redo the ISO backup on it.
I used the Windows DVD/USB tool instead of Rufus this time and all went well.

 

well i'm guessing i'm late. If everything went ok then it's good.

I suggest to use the WIndows Tool in order to create bootable USBs since i know it works flawless with every Windows release
