Sometimes, taming a deeper bass is not that easy... no matter what the genre is....
What is the best/ur favourite compressor plugin when it comes to deeper basses?
    Some examples below:

    Trip Hop

    Deep House

    Dark Trance

Dynamic eq above, brilliant for taming all sorts

Maybe... keeping low end in mono helps before thinking to use a compressor.

I rather use lowpass filter, EQ, exciter and saturation for that "deep bass".

Of course, but i assume it's on mono already, i guess everybody knows that...
    My question is about compression...

I assume not everyone knows what low end is and how to handle it :)

That tune you just posted was recorded and mixed through outboard. Try a rack comp with transformers to help even out low freq content. I like the Buzz Audio Essence w/ lundahl. LA2 or 1176 works great too. Maybe give Nebula a try for that task and see what happens.

I'm not sure about "deeper" bass, but for bass in general the Waves BSS DPR-402 sounds fantastic, and I don't see it mentioned very often. It's also extremely tweakable, and the CPU usage is surprisingly minimal. There really isn't anything else like it.

I remember hearing that Massive Attack album for the first time around 2000; it was a transformative experience to say the least.

Yeah, Dynamic eq makes wonders, i gotta try that "Nova" one...

Guys, thanks for all the construtive answers ;)

  16. Exciters can be very exciting. Adding perceived volume won't eat up precious headroom. Subtracting from bass wannabe neighbors vying for attention in similar bandwidth intensive pathways is always a safe and toneful, profitable endeavor. Highpass is the new black, and... is that a notch filter in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

That's a bandpass filter bro, looking to fit itself into a notch.

I tend to use the bpm from my tempo to set release time then Multiply or Divide it by 2, once i kinda find the groove i start fine-tuning from there.
