I dont know which other company offers the same functionality,i dont think it does, maybe some of it,but this specific workflow and tools mentioned can be obtained mostly trough the artist and pro version.

This might help, but might not have all the real time actions that Cubase has, but ... an experienced Ableton user will advise you correctly... Good Luck

    really constructive.

@Von_Steyr pretty sure Ableton has beat detection too and really good algorithms to correct false tempo too. not sure about the other daws or other software outside a daw.

but the user needed in Cubase, so i guess he need the more advanced version of Cubase.

Ableton is the daw i use when I need to beatmap a long audiofile. Warping is easy in ableton. Then I'll export it from there and import it into the session on whichever daw I was using for the project. Usually reaper, which has the worst workarounds for this task. I've tried beat detective and most all the other ways. Ableton is the fastest and easiest IMO

Sister's english is not what is wrong with this world.

You could run Live as a ReWire slave after first launching Cubase.
This has it's limitations but Live native tools should be available for your warping needs.
Unfortunately, with Cubase, Logic and ProTools, Ableton Live cannot be run as a ReWire master

Let the master race trolling begin.

    HOW-TO

Tempo detection is excellent in Cubase and I have used it quite a bit. But very similar is available in Logic called Beat Mapping and in ProTools called Beat Detective. This kind of functionality is very useful in recording more traditional music such as acoustic, singer songwriter, jazz, rock etc where you want to adapt the grid to a subtly fluctuating tempo and then add virtual instruments. EDM only really works to a rigid metronomic click and as the majority of members here seem to be into techno they may well not be familiar with these kind of DAW features:like:

Hello - Yes I'm no expert on ProTools but ProTools has the most extensive audio editing of all DAWs> You will need to check out the sister site for Groove 3 Beat Detective Explained and also search YouTube for Beat Detective. BTW the Team Audio Utopia PT 12.5 is great and why would anyone use any other version?!?
PS> Cubase 5 which is freely available has the tempo detection features. This functionality has been around for a while
    Good Luck:wink:

prepare the tracks maybe for tempodetection, think abt how it works!
Detection needs repeating patterns, so try with filters (Lowpass or highpass) to make it easier
(Bassdrum is 4 in 4 , Hihat often 16th so it would be more accurate with more sounds happening in time, so just "support" the signifikant sounds with filter out the other sounds, to be better detected).
Cubase is very good in it, if you know ALL the tools. Maybe use google for tutorials in YouTube abt the issue.

Guys I hate to have to contradict Guillermo but the Tempo Detection was part of the Features of Cubase 5. I have used it many times. Just have your track selected and then choose the Tempo Detection function from the Drop down Project Menu. Cubase will then perform an analysis and come up with a tempo map. You can then use audio warp and adapt the grid to your heart's content. You can regularize the tempo temporarily with Musical Mode, in order to play along and record other parts and then revert to the varying tempo for playback or bouncing. I only mention this so that nunzioforum can avail himself of these features. He will still be able to do what he wants in Cubase 5 even if he cannot afford to buy Cubase Pro 8 yet.:like:
