Real fans already know that our true source of inspiration Steve Faoki plays all the different instruments known to men. Little fun fact, he is even known for playing the vast majority of instruments by means of telekinesis because that way he can even play multiple instruments at the same time. Most people don't know this but the only reason Steve has problems using his DAW of choice effectively is because he is used to making his tracks by using the very method I just described. I guess he could just mic up his instruments and make his track that way but who can fault him for taking on the challenge of doing everything within his DAW from now on? New challenges are usually what gets the absolute best out of people.

I think Steve is already bashed enough. I'm not defending him in any way, it's the result of his own actions and that "I know everything" behavior but we don't have to keep this going forever.

Let's admit it; 2/3 of this age's music is filled with bullshit but again people like it. they like to follow a trend, they like to be fed by marketing, they like to be lazy and not try to find what they want to like. 9 out of 10 of my friends are like this and I have less than hundred friends. I was like that too! maybe around 2 years ago. but I thought it's better to be a lone wolf than a sheep among many. (no offense here!)

So you have 2 options: either make shitty music to go pop, get rich-fame-girls-cars and be like everyone else and pretend you are one of a kind OR do what you wanna do and express your true self for the sake of art. to serve humanity, to make history, to bring joy to that remaining 1/3 who understand the real values of life and art.

Could someone please define the exact meaning of the word "producer?
    I am a tad confused.

    This is what I've found:

    pro·duc·er
    prəˈd(y)o͞osər/
    noun1.

    1. a person, company, or country that makes, grows, or supplies goods or commodities for sale.
      "an oil producer"
synonyms: manufacturer, maker, builder, constructor, fabricator
    2. 2.
a person responsible for the financial and managerial aspects of making of a movie or broadcast or for staging a play, opera, etc.
synonyms: impresario, manager, administrator, promoter, regisseur
      "the producer of the show"
i have found translations and meaning of/for: film producer, television producer, record producer.
What kind of producer are you talking about in here?

In any case, I am a musician. M-U-S-I-C-I-A-N!!! Once upon-a-time this word had a very precise meaning.
The word "producer" used to have a precise meaning too and, according to my findings, in here there are very few worth of that title.
    Or am I wrong?

@David Nguetta Are you a friend of Faoki?
cause you look a lot like another member here with a piano roll avatar but in FL Studio instead of Ableton Live

    or maybe his twin...

good point @peghead. Producing to me means working on songs with the people who wrote those songs, getting the best outof that song in orchestration (the parts that all instruments play), suggest instruments to be used that can add a flavor, looking at the structure of the song and make shure it has the right tension, comforting the musicians involved so they feel at ease and have the perfect environment to bring out the best they have, find the right sound for their instruments so it all comes together in the total mix and have the constant overview of what's happening and what needs to be done.........the second best alternative to Superman, in other words. :winker:

Being a producer is like getting infected by HIV and no chance to revert back to so called musicianship. I really don't know why instrument players have the fantasy of their sculptures to be held in the Halls of Fame.

    Here
Early training in (chronologically) clarinet, flute, oboe, piano, and choral performance and arrangement. Also have played, to varying degrees of accomplishment (or incompetence), mandolin, guitar, keyboard synths, cello, banjo, drums and other percussion, and finally (but perennially), guitar.

    1. Piano & Trumpet (had lessons in a music school for alltogether 11 years) and I tried myself in playing Violin, Guitar, Flute, Drums & Cello but failed at these more or less...ye and after some time I started to learn my next instrument - The PC. And since I'm not working as any kind of musician to earn my money, I'll stick with that instrument for a while.

    2. Who is steve and what did he do?

In my not so humble opinion you're a producer, only if you use the computer to make "dough" (?) while you talk about "bitches" and how you're the original G, the only G and pretty much the best G.

If you're making music (be it rap, techno, classical whatever) using a computer then you're a musician in my book, even if you play no acoustic instruments.

I mainly play the guitar but I can carry a tune in piano, mandolin, recorder etc.

You've missed alot. Like a horrible movie that a house have had a terrible and frightful event in it and you've gone there to discover the reality. Be careful not to be possessed.

What matters is the resultant good and non-boring music from any process that satisfies the creativity of the engaged person in the music not the instrument itself. To be honest, till now I've not found any place for any real instrument in my flow except a simple midi keyboard.

Learning and playing an instrument does not guarantee for making a better music except ostentation in situations that nobody understands even the basics of the music.
