Is anybody here a traveler or been there, knows people?
Which city is cheaper, has a more interesting night life? What are the costs there for 2-3 people, normal or cheap accommodation for a few days?
Also are there any problems bringing your own video equipment there for shooting a video?

Yo if you want to know about these places just goto youtube and checkout the Vloggers who live there or traveled there. Here are a few but there is many more.

As for Video stuff as you will see in these vlogs you can video all you want for the most part. Hell one guy flew his Phantom 3 Drone in Hong Kong.

    Thailand:
This guy is from Phuket but recently went to Tokyo and now in Hong Kong. (this guy has money so he stays in nice places)

Bangkok: Define a a few days, give me a min and max you want to spend per night, and what you mean by interesting.
As for filming, Don't make it look like you're a pro film crew, or they'll be asking to see work permits. All though that's an exaggeration, it would depend on what you are filming and where, as you may need permission in some places. Drones are a no no, with the military government here though.

    3-4 days max.
Interesting, lots of neon lights, signs, busy streets,a light version of blade runner,lol..
    No drones,just dslrs with rigs.

I wonder if anyone here works with the asian market....

    Thanks Richard
I actually came across a company on Facebook offering drone insurance.
He says that the government are really pushing the law through to ban unlicensed use of drones.
Everyone will need a drone pilots licence.
Cost 1000bht for the main pilot and 500 bht for co-pilots
Takes 3-4 months to obtain the licence and also have a test.
Bit vague on the info now, but i am going to hook up with him next week.
The insurance starts at 3000bht for the Phantom 2 again not sure what that covers yet.

As for neon lights, China Town, although I'd say more light board signs than neon. If you want lots of neon, then somewhere like Cowboy where all the Go Go bars are, but as prostitution is illegal here, rocking up with cameras and filming may not go down too well. There are also police stationed at the top of the road usually.
Accommodation can be found quite easily; price will depend on when you go. Nasa Vegas is about 600 baht a night. On the airport rail link, so nice to avoid the taxis after a long flight, also walking distance to the canal boats. Food is pretty cheap too, and if you eat on the street, very cheap.

Doesn't matter really. Either one is good for getting about, and you can to the MRT easy enough from both. Easiest way to get to China Town.
MRT to Hua Langphong, which puts very near Yaowarat Road, the main street through China Town.
