Probably we are all able to create such a synth bass sound.

But this is not the question!

    Gimme an instant preset hit.

    Bass A:

    Bass B (sophisticated):

Beautiful, but I must tell you, I prefer the Robert Palmer version of I didn't mean to turn you on

@Jasmine thanks for bringing back some nice 'oldies' (Are those artists related to Prince?)
@Revirau I just had to watch the 'addicted to love' video

Sounds a little like an DX7/TX7 Slap Bass, maybe with a low pass filter.

    @au38wzh: Thank you, I don't know.

By the way, is this a synth bass or an e-bass with a flanger?:

Maybe, but I meant the sound in the context of that version.
@au38wzh: R. Palmer had a rare combination of Power and finesse in what he did.

Nice to have as full version...thank you.
Since its the Diva engine some 'OB presets' are sounding cleaner, warmer and less plastic then with OP-X Pro.

Yes, you're absolute right. It's your post, I don't believe in the preset-hit premise but this is not the place to discuss that. I'm sorry.

It's no premise, it should have been a quick contest. Bu no one cares, anyways.

Just to make it clear (at least for me ;-)
Your intention is to see/hear hit records using 'synth-bass-presets'?
If so, I'd love to hear/see more, coz I'm curious!
But then.. didn't most bands at the end of the 70ies, beginning of the 80ies, use presets from their usually yet unheard synths?
Thinking about this e.g. (if the one synth played is taken as a synth-bass):

May you all have a nice weekend!
