Top 10 VST plugins You use...

  1. I think that Convolution Reverb in FLS is really good, tweakable, and if you learn the mysteries of its ways and have a few good impulse responses, could create a 3D world for your listeners to habitate and live a wonderful life of sonic bliss, with you of course the Godhead of their ecstatic aural ecstacy.

I would have suggested Kontakt but then that'd be cheating as its possibilities are all 10 and some.

Not attacking anyone bro, I believe that you are trying to improve yourself, just saying that your focus should be another, and I'm really sure that if you open a "professional" project you will find it simple when it comes for FXs and chains, most of the channels just gonna have a eq or/and a compressor, but since the subject of this post is another...
Here's a list of some vsts that I like to use, maybe it can be usefull for your needs in this post:

    Pro-Q 2 - for any eq tasks
    Fabfilter Saturn - for saturation
Waves PuigChild - for additive equalization
Waves CLA 2A - for vocal compression
Waves R-Comp - for general compression (sometimes 2A or 3A from waves for general compression too)
Audio Damage Fuzz Plus 3 - for distortion (really nice one and free)
Native Instruments RC 24 - for Reverb
Waves s1 - Stereo Spreader (most of the time I use it to narrow the stereo image to be honest cause i found the stereo expander from FL can't make the things completely mono)
Waves Ps22 - to spread out pads and sustained strings
The Glue - for subtle group compression
    Ozone 7 - for mastering
AOM Invisible Limiter - Final limiting

Hope it helps you, but the point is, most of my projects doesn't have even a half of these plugins on, you just need to use what you need to use... Good luck mate! :)

Fabfilter Pro Q2. The way you can solo parts and see what's being cut out on the fly is incredibly helpful. The M/S function added too makes it such a versatile EQ.

FL Parametric 2 EQ is my go to EQ, always has been. But of course i'll use other EQs depending on the sound i want.

Valhalla Room, Shimmer, Vintage Verb and UberMod are some of my favourites too. Simple to use, and great output.

One of my favourites though.... Xfer OTT. This on a drum bus or single channels can boost energy incredibly. (oh and it's fudging free!)

Glitch 2 is a good plugin that can be used to add a whole new creative dimension to your sound, and can be used for mixing purposes if you go into it.

Cableguys Panshaper and Volumeshaper are new to me but i've fallen for them and use them a lot. There is a lot of creative and mixing options that can be harnessed through these versatile plugins.

Decimort 2 ... I use this a lot on pianos, but this is a bit shaper/crusher with another level of depth. Love it.

Also Waves L2... I've abused this to the point i don't even know what it does anymore... *sigh*
