Ok, this sounds complicated, and i don't know if it's even possible, but trying to work it out using VAC and hoping someone can help.

I normally use Ableton 9.6.1 and rewire in Reason 8.3.2 to use the synths and Redrum etc. No problem there. However, I've always hated the mixer in Ableton. A couple of days ago I played around with Harrison Mixbus 32C and loved it. I've always been a disbeliever in DAWs sounding differe,t but Mixbus 32C does genuinely sound different and livelier and 'more analogue' to my ears than other DAWs.

Now, what I am trying to work out is if it's possible to run audio out ofAbleton and into Mixbus using VAC at all? Therefore, having Ableton for all my instruments and MIDI, Reason rewired in for it's synths, and then audio routed to Mixbus for the mixing and final mixdown to get the Mixbus sound on the track.

Anybody know if this is do-able?

sorry to suddgest the easiest route:

Commit to the song. commit to the arragment. before you put on your mix-Ninjahat

Bounce your tracks to audio and start a new project in mixbus.
    zero draw backs.

I responded in your other thread about using JACK instead, but if you don't like JACK, here's a screenshot of my VAC settings that work. You just set Ableton's output to the virtual cable and Mixbus' input to the same one.

I've been trying to route Studio One into Mixbus for ages, with no success so far...I've even created a few threads about it here.

Jack, at least on Windows, is a nightmare to configure. Had some relative success using reRoute (comes bundled with Reaper), but experienced a lot of crashes and synchronization issues...Tried a bunch of other methods, but none of them really worthed the hassle.

There's another audio router called "O Deus ASIO Link Pro" which seems promising and highly configurable. I haven't tested it yet though. Maybe you want to give it a shot.

For now, my conclusion is that the best way to get your stuff into Mixbus is to export your stems into it, at least until Harrison themselves find an easier way to integrate Mixbus with other DAWs.

Anyway, let us know if you are successful in your attempts.

Yeah you just have to suck it up and deal with JACK's obnoxious configuration. Once you finish it one time, you don't have to do it ever again. I tried O Deus and the configuration was even more insanely complicated than JACK. Never did get it working at all, so I just sucked it up and got JACK going. It's 2 clicks now for me to have audio routing out of Ableton into Mixbus in realtime via JACK now, so worth the setup hassle

Good for you, mate...In my case, I've wasted an entire day learning to configure jack and when I finally managed to get it going I've found out that it doesn't work with Studio One x64, just x86...

For anyone who doubted, the dream is achieved, though using Jack2 and not VAC!

But it works fine with x64 DAWs? You just manually register the 64 bit DLL once like the instructions show and it handles 64 bit as well as anything else

That's what I'm talking about! Looks great man

Yeah...Apparently this is exclusively an Studio One x64 issue.

the 10 minute solution really is to export/transfer all as audio tracks and import into MB
