I'm looking for some new ideas regarding well-matched synth combinations, so in your opinion what VSTi's sound great together, and what role does each one play? e.g. bass, pads, strings, lead etc.

Hopefully I can set up a couple of new templates that will get the creative juices flowing :)

Here is a basic one that I have been using lately ..

    Bass - Gforce Minimonsta
    Pads - Tal U-NO-LX
    Lead - U-he Diva

    My preferences:

Omnisphere, Absynth, Spectral and Camel Alchemy for pads.
Sytrus, FM8, Massive, Serum, Spire and Tal bassline for bass.
Sylenth1, Harmor, Spire and Serum for leads.

The key is eq-ing out the frequencies that don't sound good together and little compression. It's fun to make something sound good by working on it.

My current project: Bass: Tal Bassline, Spire and Sytrus.
    Pads: Alchemy multiple instances.
Lead: Sylenth1, Spire and still working on it.

Glue is a very good plugin to use on sounds that don't sound good together, I use it after eq-ing out unnecessary frequencies.

Monark is a good one for bass, but I don't want to install Reaktor.
