For The guy's that are using 64.bit Daw's

    i am using cubase 5 mac osx and want to update to cubase 6 64 bit but i want to know if using 64 bit plugin makes a big difference on cpu usage is there less cpu strain and is it worth it thanks for any input :wink:

    I think it is worth it.
    Some plugins uses much less cpu on 64-bit, for example studio drummer in kontakt.
    I use Logic and overall it uses a bit less cpu in 64-bit. And as you know you can have more plugins on your session.
    So i say go 64-bit ;)

    plus, with 32bit programs you can only use a max total of 4GB of RAM. (even if you installed more than 4GB of RAM)
    with 64bit you don't have this limitation! :thumbsup:

    thanks for you input the only disadvantage is that not all plugins are 64 bit but eventually they all will be thanks
