You like being vague and non-specific, don't you?

I don't own/use HoRNet plugins, so I can't tell, even if you told me specific and informatic questions. I do know shit tons of stuff, but if you are asking "stupid" questions you will get "stupid" replies. That's just how I work.

She actually did! Hence the citation-marks, as in non-specific.

I only own two of them: VU meter, about which I'm always commenting, and SongKey. Basically my choice is based on two things. (1) Price. Although it seems ridiculously low, it demonstrates that good tools can be built for the everyday Joe, not just for the top studios with deep pockets. (2) Practicality. There are a number of VU meters in the market, but add gain control (automatic if you wish), screen coloring and a very simple and neat interface and you get a lot for your dough. And the newest version has grouping and who knows what. SongKey basically gives me an idea of the chords and scale. Of course it's not as precise as a pair of ears, but it gets you in the ballpark, saving work.

I know I'm not answering how I use them, but I'm telling you why. I hope it's useful.

Side note, they also (actually he, it's a one-guy operation if I'm not mistaken) make very interesting gain automation tools. When those plugin's get ported to AAX, I'll be the first one to buy them.

    Peace

well I tried auto-gain, It does a decent job.
but it isn't really a effect, more automatic generated automation. (lol)

you need to know how to sidechain, and need to know when en where to apply.

Tricky thing with these topics is that if you question yourself you need a plugin, you probably do not.

but if you want one specific plugin explained I can help.

We are soul/spirit prisoners, trapped here on earth for a crime that we have comitted when we were travelers of space and time. We are put here in a physical being, with a clueless mind, looking for a "reason" or a "meaning" to it all (which the journey/seeking will enlighten our soul/spirit once we die, have served our sentence and we return to our original state).
By serving our time here we also get programmed to re-produce (like all physical life in the universe), until the watchers/aliens have breed the ultimate pet, which they then take to their kids to play with.

@ the OP. It's easy to interpret your question is simply asking for a recommendation and rating from someone who may have experience with the Hornet plugins. I can't help you on that note because I've never used them. But why someone who has been a member here since 2011 responded just for the sake of fucking with you is ridiculous. And why anyone else would give him any praise for it is just as ridiculous. His chosen avatar speaks volumes about his mentality and level of maturity to begin with. So don't even sweat it. That's the worst thing about the general tone lingering in this forum.. it's the condescending jokes and too many who have a lack of seriousness about themselves. Collectively they taint the forum by giving it a childish brand.

@Baxter I too suspect we're just some plaything for a cruel master, worse still, maybe just a simulation, cause there's evidence for that in physics, being made just smart enough to notice we are just not smart enough. Military testing showed me that I'm in the "99th percentile." Oh boy, too bad I'm treated as a white man, cause, society is so over that.

I suspect not, that our job is to become enlightened, being a guy that flew over a pristine black ocean seated going towards a rising sun... (Level 4 satori experience supposibly) while experiencing a feeling quite like a continuous orgasm. I have found, though I life unexamined is not worth living, neither is an examined one! fml. I really wish I got a chance to kick whomever is responsible for this, in the taint.

Lucky for me, I get to see my son again at an event today, not told to me, but my attorney found out about. So I get to play here under the warm moonlight of misandry where, the people that created 99.9% of all inventions is now considered the ultimate enemy. Enjoy.

    --------------------------------------------------
The meter is an auto gain like device, though most ppl in compressors on, tend to turn off the auto gains of things though, and go by ear.

I think he did not respond just for the sake of fucking with him, U fail to read the message inside it,
there are actually a lot of people who think they "need" something for the sake of it,they think they 'need'' this or that to make fine product.

Adventures like this one defeats all logic.

And yes maybe the jokes where condescending, cut him some slack would ya?
Baxter has been around here for as long as I can remember, unselfishly help out everyone who seeks an answer he has.

audiosex does not have a hierachy, it should not have one, and I would not want that.
But still I think you are way out of line here. But what do I know (hence my avantar:bleh:)

and who gives a ^%&^about a childish brand?, I don't know of a forum yet that has as much information and more importantly: Discussions, Disagreements and yes Humor.

It "can" be a resourceful forum in many ways. But it's problematic for anyone who is about their business looking to acquire some information and move on. Just like this thread here.. when one would have to weed through comments about outer space, aliens, and whatever spawns from that to find any piece of information they are looking for. There's threads 10 pages long with off the wall comments, pictures, and YouTube clips that don't pertain to the topic. Only one or two people may provide some resourceful information in between all that. If it's information someone seeks, they have to dig though the trash to find it. You call it what you want to, but that's gotten to be the norm around here under almost every topic.

It's easier to learn things while cracking jokes and generally having fun along the way, eh? I find this forum far more refreshing and entertaining to read than KVR and Gearslutz, and there is still heaps of great info to be found and learn from. That's why I disliked and disagreed to some of your post here. Sorry guys, I like it just the way it is. :winker:

Regarding HoRNet plugins, I used to like some of them very much when I was doing everything "in-the-box". I somehow don't find them that useful these days, but I culled the number of plugins I use drastically, and his plugins just "went off the radar" somehow. I used to like his MultiComp the most as it sounded rather hardware-like to me with lots of nice colour. It's very flexible with 3 different hardware emulations: VCA, Opto, and Tube compression. That's pretty much like having 3 different compressor plugins in one.

HoRNet VU meter is great, too, but there are so many different VU and peak meters... and I decided to use other meters, and I don't need auto-gain, but I must admit it's a rather nifty feature to have!

There's also this SW34EQ which sounds really nice, but again there are so many different EQs available and I chose other EQs to use instead. I currently only use EQuality, SlickEQ, TB EQ, DDMF 6144. It is more than enough. Still too many. Having too many options is distracting and counter-productive.

HoRNet DeeLay and Chorus60 are great effects, but all I can say is repeat myself: there are heaps of other options that I currently find more convenient to use and these had to go to VST graveyard.

Having said all that, if you put me in front of the computer with only Reaper and HoRNet plugins I can guarantee you I could make a great mix with these only anyway. His plugins are top of the line, IMO.

    Cheers! :headbang:  :hahaha:
