They can be installed side by side. But if you have the Geist 1 from the sister site I don't know what it will do. The two legit, no problem, but other than that someone will have to test...

Still no FLAC support. What a pity. I converted my samples to lossless FLAC because Ableton Live devices and audio tracks can read FLAC, which saves a lot of disc space. Only because of Geist 1 I`ve left a few samples in WAV/AIFF.

This looks interesting. That's how I think, Maschine VST should have worked inside a DAW. Resizable and Flexible. Good work FXPansion.

i bought Geist 1 back in the days and have used it alot.

Upgrading to Geist 2 for a no-brainer price was a no-brainer for me.
I have just touched the surface of it, but man, this will be problaby nr. 1 in my favo top 10 released plugins in 2016.
It's really amazing !
Ofcourse you can compare it to NI Machine.
But Geist 2, for me, goes alot deeper.

I am runnning it in Reaper 5.21 pre - 64bit, OSX 10.10.5.
Haven't experienced any crash, after working in Geist 2 for hours and hours, in Reaper :0)

BTW: I am in no way connected to FXpansion )

 

So far I love it....BUT....they got rid of the Spitter plugin.
This is bad for me. The spitter plugin was a part of my sample workflow.
I use S1v3, and S1 doesn't support routing audio into the inputs of instrument tracks. Which is why the Spitter plugin was necessary, as I liked to sample from within the DAW.

FXpansion apparently thinks that the Spitter plugin is now "obsolete" because most DAWs let you route audio into an instrument track's input.

Bummed by this. Enjoying everything else though.

 

got the upgrade but is working like shit with my Windows resolution, geist 1 was working fine.

Fxpansion, solve the windows scaling bugs! I can't use this shit

 

@real The spitter thing sucks, I agree, in samplitude it's the same crap. So the only fix I've found so far is a bit complicated but it works - at least on samplitude - and it is as follow : you need ddmf send it and metaplugin vsti or bidule vsti or bluecat vsti, whichever you prefer (I use Bidule which has 16 outs). On the track that you want to sample in your Daw you put the vstfx send it (which is included in metaplugin when you install it, you can find it on the sister site or PM if you just want send it) as a sender on channel 1. On the track where you want Geist 2 you put Bidule, or one of these. You have to put Geist2 in one of these because the send it receiver must be before Geist2 in the chain to be able to transfer to it what you want to sample. Inside bidule or whatever you put Geist 2 and send it configured as a receiver on channel 1 (or the same as the one you used on the send track), then you connect send it to Geist 2 ins in Bidule and in the sampler you select ext as a source.
Every one is bitching about it they will probably fix that, but in the waiting of that, that's what I can offer.
PM if I haven't been clear on some aspects of the way to go.

2nd....OMG! If you have to go through all that, that's horrible.
It is either extremely incompetent or extremely arrogant of FXpansion to just totally ignore the spitter plugin like this and make us jump through all these hoops.

On their FB page, a guy asked them if they were going to make a new Spitter for Geist2. FXpansion's answer was that it was "obsolete."
I hope they're paying attention and seeing how wrong they are. The guy was pretty upset with that answer, and I'm upset with it too. And I already spent money on this being impatient. I should've demoed it first.
