I primarily use Ableton as my DAW and prefer to have my plugins arranged by type, such as EQ, reverb, compressor etc. However, in Ableton it only seems to see the WaveShell which you then have to open to see a huge list of all the individual plugins in alphabetical order. Is there anywhere to see these plugins individuals to arrange them into folders without having to scroll through the entire WaveShell list?

I know Sonar Platinum has the plugin manager tool and it sees them as individual plugins rather than the shell and allows you to arrange in whatever folders you want, I.e. by type and so on.

Anyone know if this is possible in Ableton?

    You could try the AUGANIZER.

Its a organizer for AU plugins. Only works with AU (MAC) I guess.

Use the R2R waveshell tool, it transforms the waves shell in separates vsts. Works in vst2 x64 and x32 but not vst3.

Pay attention to what it's scanning when it crashes. I had to weed out a couple plugins to use shell2vst. None of them were crucial to me so it was all good.

I have no idea when it comes to Ableton. What about simply installing the whole package then just delete the various ones u don't need from correct plugin folders in the waves setups.

Never tried it but might cut down scanning time on waveshell.

Either that or use a version with the Command centre LOL and just install what u want. There will be a way. Ive just always installed the whole lot so I could be talking crap

did they stop to let you decide, which plugin you only want to install?
before the Waves Central crap, you could for example select RBass plugin only and just install this one, still in the waveshell, but it worked. is this now not possible.
if you are a Waves Lover, dont click this, if you dont whine.
(still i hate the waves plugin stuff, to complicated to work with and to cpu intensive and a waste of HDD space)

Did this and it seems to be the L316 Mono and L316 Stereo that cause the crash on scanning.

Okay so, just remove that one, right? Unless it's one that is just integral to your workflow. And when the scan gets a bit farther along, it might crash on other plugins too. I definitely had to ditch at least 4 or 5.

As it is now, I have almost no Waves stuff in my folders. I like Center, the CLA compressors, ADT and... that's about it.

Yes u can do that Artic. There seems to be different problems in this thread I guess and I am not suitably qualified to advise really. I use reaper so if I want a plugin I just type it in the search list & thats it job done.
As for youre spoiler I bet u have them all installed & every release from 2005 Backed up  I agree some are ok some are shite. Personally I use FabFilter the most but that's digressing

Yeah, Ableton finally decided to ditch them and kept scanning by ignoring them. It was only them two plugs that don't seem to work. They're picked up fine and work in Studio One, Sonar and FL Studio though. Weird.
