And you can bet it wont be cheap.

Funny though how they release information about it on the same day that notation was added to Reaper.

How much does that cost, lol, nothing, all included in the program for free. :)

Yes i realize that its not exactly the same but Steinberg is not releasing til the end of the year. Plenty of time for Reaper to get even better.

Its also the first time that Steinberg have released details like this, and started a forum, for a product before it was ready to release.

Are they scared of the Reaper. :)

I agree that they have entered into a phase when they can no longer be the best. I think some sort in 10 years they will be on Sony Acid level:rofl:

Thanks Willum for your info about Reaper. I have Cubase 8.5 and it s score is a kick in the eggs when you try to obtain a decent score fluidly; in the past I used Cakewalk or Sonar to do that but they are not comfortable for me.

Tested Reaper Score, works fine, using keyboard to enter notes, recorded in a midi track.

Does this mean they will ditch the score editor in cubase?

They are indeed ditching some things, they also said they would abandon 32bit version,so 9 will be 64 bit only.

As i said in the post that you quoted, notation has now been added to Reaper.

Go look at this video about the new features in Reaper 5.20, notation bit starts at 9:00 into the video.

I read on the official forums that there are no immediate plans to ditch the current score editor in Cubase.

Yes, there is a crossgrade for owners of Finale and Sibelius. Whether this will replace those two remains to be seen.

It only requires the software e-license... unless you want it on more than one PC. That's when you have to use the hardware elic. Quite disappointing but expected since it's Steinberg.

there s a big difference between the score editor in a music sequencer and a complete score editing software,u can t compare the two things.Sometime the score editor plugis suffices the needs, but it s very basilar,it depends on what your purposes r.Personally i m fine with sibelius and don t want to get more headaches learning to use another scoring software
