Well... I need to wipe out the SSD (OCZ Vertex 3 MAX IOPS) contents and every attempt fails because Win7 (Pro and Ultimate) locks a lot of files every time I wire the SSD via USB (O.S:does not cares if I am logged as Admin or guest). Win7 safe mode is useless and the DOS cannot be used... Any suggestions?

You can delete partitions or re-partition the drive in Window's Disk Management, regardless if you are usb or not. No need to wipe, as a repartition will basically render any undelete attempt useless.

what about using a live linux distro to achieve this? i have a old parted magic distro to do all the magical stuff. basically you need only the dd command to achieve this, no need for partitioning tools or stuff.

    dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdX iflag=nocache oflag=direct bs=4096

You need to replace the sdX with the actual string of the device, mostlikely an attached external drive becomes the last entry in a chain of sda, sdb, sdc, sdd, ....

My bad. You was right, mate. The OCZ SSD Utility see the SSD even via USB and the Secure Erase is enabled. Thanks.

I use GErase in Parted Magic. Older versions are still free.
It's the best way, as it's not causing excessive wear to the SSD.
