    Hello!

    I'm doing a Sound Editing/Music Internship at a local Game Studio which makes applications/games for children(age 3-10).
They want to integrate music and sound effects with their simple games/apps.

Can you recommend sample libraries(Kontakt libraries would be big help) for composing folk music specifically aimed at children (nursery rhyme type music) eg

And also for application sound FX, something like this-

And what should be my music creation process? Should I start with some simple melodies or chords or where should I begin(any insight into music theory would be great). I'm really confused  . Thanks in advance  :)

@AviatOfficial Dunno if that's what you're asking for, but good start is to have a collection of commonly used instruments as Kontakt Libs. Acoustic guitars, basses, banjos, clarinet, sax, trumpets, trombones, etc.

Sample modeling instruments are good start:

For folk stuff... um, you can't beat the sound of an actual acoustic, really. There was a great steel string guitar library from 8dio, but that's for lead stuff and melodies, not strummed stuff which is what folk is usually. Though I'd still recommend checking it out.

It all depends on what you intend for folk music...

    [IMG]this one is free.

There was also one I saw used in a tut on youtube that seemed even better than Kontakt. It didn't show the name of the maker though...

I have to admit, after playing with guitar syms I tend to just stop, go to Ultimate Guitar Tabs and download a tab and just play the piece.

I suggest you google folk songs, before and after the vietnam era...if you don't want songs only about burning flags and bras, then go to a tab site and download the chords. Done.

Ethno World 5 is one big library with a lot of folk and ethno instruments.
One of the best sims I've heard is Chris Hein's Mandolin which I believe is into Chris Hein Guitars collection.
I can also add Best Service's Accordions but I 'm sure the other suggestions are pretty good.

And of course, I have to agree with @Qrchack.

    Happy composing

Yes! I have Ethno World 5. It's really awesome. I like the Strings,Voices and Percussion stuff from it.

Chris Hein's Guitar collection is pretty interesting.
Best Service's stuff is always good xD

    Thanks for the reply :)
