Basically Apple will wire up your cat with electrodes if you let them. And even if you didn't let them you will find out you actually did whilst installing the OS.

That's what a $10 cinema ticket actually is for...

On the other hand, similar stories were on all main tech news sites after Apple Music launched. Also, this issue can be avoided by ticking the right boxes. Yes, Apple makes it easy to mess up, but if you're not blindly clicking "agree", "next" "next", "finished" you do keep your stuff. My 200 GB local music library sits perfectly fine on my laptop.

You agree to terms and conditions ? You are dead.
You don't agree ? So just don't buy Apple.

Apple WAS the best computer/OS maker, until they started selling more iPhones than computers.
Now power users and pros are just treated like the dumb average Joe.

Think mainstream. And it is going to be worse and worse.

    My sincerest condolences.

Apple helped itself to music of its your own creation? And then wouldn't let you listen to it uniess you were hooked-up to Apple Music by wifi? That means that Apple stole music to which it had not been granted the right to possess and distribute - or is that technically covered in its TOS? It can't be, or if it is, it can't be legal. It turned audio files which you owned (your own creations and others') and turned them into proprietary streams?

    Class-action suit
    .

Cloud-based storage is risky, and sole dependency upon cloud-based services are a bad idea - but this is a whole new level of crumminess. Myself, I keep music out of the iTunes library folder, in order to keep my computer running smoothly, and backed-up on two (redundant) hard drives, and this thing just tells me not to let Apple know what I have.

What you recounted makes me want to withdraw my music from distribution to iTunes and Apple Music. It's bad enough that iTunes takes a 40% bite out of sales of music, but this Apple Music thing is criminal.

    Class-action suit.

Just to be clear, I didn't write the article. The author and source is included in the post though. I pretty much steer clear of anything Apple, but since many here do not I found the article relevant for AS. I'd be surprised if their army of lawyers hadn't made sure that only the users risk getting screwed.

Precisely! From a legal standpoint, how could Apples TOS indemnify them from using your original creations without a license to do so? And not so much the the removal of your files from apple music folders, but the subsequent streaming of them in a proprietary manner.

But generally speaking, cloud services are just storing your files on a bigger hard drive somewhere outside of your own home. The files are still just stored on a hard drive. The only difference is, if you don't have an internet connection and/or their facilities get destroyed you can't access your files and folders in any way. Which is why, I manually backup things on external hard drives i can take with me, in case of emergencies. Besides, all things with autosync tend to put files in random places and random folders of their choosing. Which is usually more hassle then it's worth.

I wonder when mactards will stop embarrassing themselves by making these moronic comments. I guess, the answer is never, since they have their heads deep in the... big apple.

I release plenty. If an OS is limiting your ability to make music, you must suck at production lol.
