This song, the bass that hits throughout the song

not your average distorted bass.. sounds like a ring mod, or maybe an fm layer.

Not sure how would you go about getting this sound. I tried asymmetric distortion, waveshaping. Can't seem to lock this in. I even tried importing the bass into a serum custom wavetable.

Thoughts?

 

sounds like a clicky/transienty 808 kick with a saw wave with release in a specific key layered on top. the saw wave does have some distortion. Try putting it the song into something like wave candy and set it to oscilliscope mode on try and recreate the wave by looking at the visuals.

 

re-amped true a pc speaker which is distorting?

 

Saw wave, slow attack, short decay and no sustain (amp env/ADSR). Highpass. Saturate.
Lowpass/hi-cut if needed (post saturation/dist).

Layer with 808 kick.

Yep. And then just add the distorted (highpassed and maybe lowpassed, i.e bandpassed) saw on top of it, with some amp attack and some decay. PROFIT!!1!!1
