    Hi again...
First of all i'm sorry if i'm posting this in the wrong section and sorry for my bad english.
However, i used to play guitar months ago, i stopped because i couldn't find any song that i like to play and that would be enough easy for me... (I was searching only death metal and metal)
So, i would ask you, before i start and stop again... Do you have any song or advices to give me other than the well-known "don't stop, everyone sucks in the beginning"? Nothing bad versus this, but i know, i know everyone sucks in the beginning, but i tried for a year to play guitar (i even frequented music school for 4-5 months)...
    Have a nice day ^^

To get a good feeling of your instrument and fretboard, i recommend drop tunings like drop D or drop C. This will give you access to play beefy powerchords with just one finger. Velvet revolver and Rob zombie songs come to mind that use drop tunings and are extremely easy to play. Also i could recommend any starting guitarist to go and buy rocksmith 2014 game, just to make learning more fun. From customs forge website you can download pretty much any song that comes to your mind.

I know this goes against what you asked but what was said above is solid advice. You can watch all the tutorials in the world but doing it is what counts. Repetition is the key to success. No matter how hard it gets stick to it and you will get the results you want. Make time to practice everyday, even for 5 mins if thats all you got, it all counts in the end. Wish you luck

Thank you ^^! the first video about the solos helped me with music theory too, lol... I never though thing like that, even if i studied a bit of music theory... I'm going to watch all of them... However, i already do the intermediate exercise and the chromatic and so on, the biggest problem is that i can't find a song to play! I need to play lot of songs before composing, if i don't know what people does and how they make up the guitar part i will never be a true composer... that's what my dream is

    P.S
i know at least the 60-70% of the guitar related channels on youtube, i've been a year searching for these things on internet xD infact i knew this guy, i'm even a subscriber

This dude took the words out of my mouth.

Also try some slow songs like Black Sabbath's early stuff, Overkill's "Horrorscope" and the like. Best of luck

good luck, but you cant limit yourself to just d.metal, or whatever.

a common path would be to start with the blues, or classical music if you prefer theory.

from there you progress to rock or jazz, and than, when you have a vocabulary of chords, scales and riffs, you can try with the metal.

Thank you. However i'm not limited. I like every genre of the world, i already study music theory and piano for composing, i need to get back with guitar because i want to make something Hybrid for film/game scoring, and since i have no composer friends, nor guitarists, nor singers, nor bassist, nor drummers, nor a studio to record, i think i have to do all on my own, expecially since i'm a 2 years beginner and even if i only have a midi keyboard and an electric guitar and no money to spend on music stuff... yay, my life is so good!
(dunno if you get the sarcasm)

    :)... a good mindset !

    small things make life good...

for film/game things, in certain circumstances, You can make "music" almost without knowing to play the instrument (in a traditional sense)...
Junkie made a small clip about that:

Yeah, unfortunately i sucks... however i'd like to have the basic full knowledge of the instrument i'm composing for... Obviously i'm not talking about all the instrument of the earth, i mean: violas, guitars, a bit of percussions, trumpets, horns, etc...

the problem with Rocksmith it promotes bad technique and it is after just a game... your not learning you copying what a screen tells you. it is nice playing along . I learned just trying to play m favourite songs playing a lot with the actual track... and if i got stuck id go here https://www.ultimate-guitar.com and try it with tabs. super easy to read and most are accurate. remember you can make the same chords on several different places on the fret board with different shaped chord patters the trick is to find whats most comfortable for you. you can too tune the guitar to the song so you just learn the shape of a few cords and tune the guitar accordingly so its one song in one tuning and a different song in another yet you actually play exactly the same way in both songs. I know a couple very famous guitar players that play this way. Plus on youtube there are a lot of how to play this song videos out there, like this one

I must say that i'm with you a bit... I'm more for reading staff/musical notation more than just watching colors on the screen xD
However, as i said, i just can't find a sort of playlist for me... You know what i'd love to get? A list in sequential order of the songs i should learn, e.g:

    First week:
    This song.
    Second week:
    this song.

So that i can learn songs even if i don't like so much playing them, because i would have the necessary motivation...

Start the Justin Guitar or Learn & Master guitar course. The frustration comes from not knowing what to do. Learn the basics and everything else will fall into place
