if it's to make more people aware of struggling developers then i say leave them on...
i don't see what problems they cause anyway, particularly if the item is clearly labelled as such..

Same as others have said, no, but direct links should be provided and no money should be made from it.

I think freebies should be posted, but like this:

    D/L link choices:
    1. Developer direct link (but you have to register/or don't have to register)
    2. Audioz uploader links.

I think the choices should be included. many times it's best to use the AZ uploader link to avoid registering. Having to research this every time might well minimize the appearance of freebies, and that would be a good thing.

Not one freeware developer has complained about being posted at AZ.
Once you know a soft and you like it, you find the dev page to get updates and see if there are more interesting things.

They SHOULD be banned immediatly IF they upload a Freeware to a file Hoster in order to generate profit from it instead of just linking to the Devs Site.
The reason is: the guy who does this is not a hacker who actually put effort into it besides downloading it from the devs webspace (who pays for the webspace and the traffic!) and upload then upload it to some fileserver and wants to make money off of something that somebody actually worked on and puts up for free??? And then they even think they "provide" something and want to take credit for "sharing" something and fuck over the dev? Fuck outta here with these kind of people! Dispicable!

No. But Don't ban moneymaking filehosters either. Why?

    1. Original developer gets lots of exposure from audioz.
    2. His website gets lots of downloads.
    3. Due to high downloads, he could be charged more money by hosting services
I do not beleive the intent of promotion was to hurt the developer (but do leave a link to their site).

AudioZ should have a Freeware section, where informative posts about the items contain links only to the developers' pages for those items.

Not only would this prevent posters from making money from their own uploads, it would be both good "public relations" to developers and good publicity for them.
Direct downloads from developers' sites lets developers know how much interest there is in their product(s) and also gives them an idea of what the public wants, if not also of what sort of music is being made with their software. It also provides them with a mailing list, from which downloaders can unsubscribe, though it's nice to be notified of updates to freeware or of other freeware by developers. It encourages users to comminicate further with developers, too.

Whenever there's a freeware post on AudioZ that interests me, I always hit the developer's link, out of sympathy for the developer, but also because there might be useful or crucial info about the product, as well as other freebie or cheapeo or not-cheap-but-interesting stuff on the developer's site.

yes... BAN the free-plugins posts... UNLESS, they are only allowed to post developer links... I feel that it is integral  that people should not be allowed to make money simply by posting assloads of free trash (of which is not always trash... yes, I get that).

Perhaps it should depend on how accessible the freebie is and who the developer is.

I appreciate some of the freebies posted here that I wouldn't have found on my own and sometimes you don't want to have to sign up to mailing lists and get access codes etc just to access a free plugin...so it's cool when they are posted.

Sorry but I really dont see any problem. First of all its useful if some AudioZ users post freeware stuff because without this most of us never would take any notice about it. Second point "the money makers" Yeah, of cause most of us dont like them because they are trying to make money with others people's work...but sorry noone has to download anything if he/she doesnt want to. And as far as the link to developers homepage is provided you can even decide where to download. So if you dont want to support money makers simply use the developers link. OK, would be fine if the developers link would be posted as a direct link...but sorry, if you are to lazy to visit developers homepage an click at the origign link then its mostly your problem and noone else's. The actual rule about posting free stuff is absolutely OK. Marking it with "FREE" and provide the link to developers site is enough of restriction. Anything more would be contra productive. If you think there should be a zippyshare or MEGA link....noone will bother you if you provide it as a mirror.

I don't understand why you keep posting comments when the Administrator clearly stated: "This will never happend". One more time: this site is a private site where we can be admitted. We don't make the rules here. But if you want to talk about them, well...
And by the way, I don't like those freeware links, but one more time, who cares?

  17. A nice healthy discussion, this is great!

To me, Saint's joie de vivre, the how and the why that makes this place great, seems for just one of many reasons, because he makes no distinctions between what he calls"free ware and share ware". In his creation one always has the freedom of choice in regard to where or how to aquire any of software that one's sees on the other website. One ALWAYS can download directly from the developers. Many do just that, they buy the software that they see it fit to buy directly from a dev's site. Others enjoy finding great freeware from cool developers and can also download directly if they wish. They can also, if provided with an alternate place, have an option to download additionally from there. Everyone has a free choice and everyone can choose what is right for them. And yea, also everything that stevitch said.

Personally, I don't see it as that big of a deal. I just wish EDM and Trap music would just roll over and die so I don't have to see all this "$ick Mo $tyles Trap Ca$h Kingz $ick Beatz Fo Yo N***az 2 Jayum 2!" consistently flooding the f***ing place.
Oh, and the Dinma packs can stop, too. :deep_facepalm:

Does anyone see only the money hungry uploaders behind this? Come on.
Having ONLY a link to dev's website means that you usually have to register there and provide all sorts of personal details, address, telephone, sometimes even credit card number. Having a direct link in that case is very helpful.
Of course, link to dev's page should be always provided, but why not throw in some MEGA and Zippyshare links as well?
