    not much better than Live, and in Live u can show hide the GUI of the VST devices by shortkey ( by default it's ctrl+shift+p, so worth to remapping it, Autohotkey on win can do it quickly for ex.

    ^e::^!p

    route it to ctrl + e)

    track based, so don't have to open the VSTs always one by one it's zillion times faster than in any DAW, + has MAX integration so u can solve your little problems(routing/device) by some programming (and has zillion community devices)

    this is how I solved the routing of Nora in it to different tracks with voice based splitting > http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=460628&sid=6839bbde0a9ba8d4fd7dddc2c784b85a

    I use both bitwig and live, I like the kick,snare and hat in-built synths, I design my kicks and snares in bitwig, I also love the midi layers, a really good feature for composing melodies, basslines and chord progressions at the same time, then after I have the fundamentals of a song I switch to Live.

    If Live upgrades their interface like that in Bitwig (Ability to replace Session View With Mix View, Big Meters etc), then I will never look at Bitwig again.
    If Bitwig makes their arrange view media item editing like that in Live, then I will never look at Live again.

    I am using both Live and Bitwig with Reaper.

    I do everything from recording midi, programming drums, recording vox and live instruments, mixing etc... straight out of FL Studio 11. In a 96khz environment. Fast automation and even faster getting ideas out. I use focusrite claret 4 pre, ART pro MPA 2 (occasionally the focusrite pres sound much better) Sterling ST79 with the SE electronics reflection filters in a semi treated room.

    Don't mean to derail the thread, but a buddy of mine brought his Avalon AD20 to record at my setup. First thing I noticed was way to much room noise. I don't know the exact details of that preamp (except that it's allegedly one of the best) but it seems like it just creates a louder signal. I got more headroom, but had to dedicate a lot more time eqing the shyt out of the vocals. Especially around the 350-600hz range. It was a headache. Or maybe I'm just use to doing things on my budget setup because I get good results.

    so versus the original post this is how AL look real in the mix view ;) on the secondary monitor

    if u close the device bar at the bottom u won't able to see the inbuilt sampler,eq,spectrum views so I keep it open, no more space here ...

    @subGENRE: Thanks for posting this! Although imho Live's strength is the session view, it's nonetheless interesting to really do the hard work with both DAWs and reporting about your experiences.
    I believe there is a good reason why a respectable number of users start composing, looping and arranging snippets in Live's session view and later on transfer the project (or just some wave exports) into a "linear" DAW.
    So what you wrote seems to confirm that.
    One question though: Are your clips mainly audio or mainly midi? Or mainly frozen midi? :winker:
