As a matter of fact in folder "Old" you can find every release of Reaper, starting from the 5.0 pre's...
The betas are 99% stable and compatible with Reaper 5.15+
I am using the last 5.20 beta 31a at the moment

I don't use keygens for REAPER)) I just run it -> then if it is the beta/rc there is a "REAPER Warning" window that you use testing unsupporting beta version -> click OK -> then you get a window "Buy Me" with 5-sec to wait -> so there are two ways:
1) Wait for 5 seconds and click "Still Evaluation"
or as I do (to be faster and easier)
2) I drag this "BuyMe"-window behind the desktop / into the space out of the screen (for "not to wait for 5 seconds" method)

All betas/RCs/final releases work without keyge and without any limitations, just only one limitation - this annoying "BuyMe"-window))

I just download latest beta/rc and install (without registry cleaning/uninstalling etc), then run and work in evaluation mode))))
All betas/rc/final releases are stable. Why stable? because even any final release will be fixing and improving later in next versions, or even revert some functions that were introduced many versions ago) and again and again! they even still fix/improve old bugs, which were in first version many years ago and nobody noticed them before. So, use the latest betas/rc than earlier final releases. Just a bit more functions, options, features, and less bugs =)

I use Reaper almost exclusively but there is one thing, above all else that aggravates me about it: In the FX there is no way to nest or make sub-folders for vst's. For someone like me, who has every vst on the planet, the FX area can get quite congested and confusing.
Other than that one small detail I think it is GREAT!

 

It is a PITA for me too.. This is the way i went - tried to make simpler structure that will make sense to me, given the limitations:
