Ha! You got me there - because I don't listen to albums. But here's a few songs I have discovered lately: Lara Fabian - Je t'aime, Caruso. Laura Pausini - Io Canto. Kinoklub - Za nju. Zabranjeno puĊĦenje - Srce, ruka, lopata. I do not try to discover songs, therefore I don't know so many. Normal music means created by people who know how to sing and play instruments, but more importantly who do not have dirty interests while 'creating'.

One man's good music is another man's noise, I don't see the point in criticising others' choices.

Wow, that was quick. You must be pretty narrow-minded and intolerant, that's all I can say.

But good music and bad music is subjective. People have different tastes, not just in music, but in every aspect of life - women, food, clothes and so on. It's what makes the world what it is.

Ha, we'll just have to agree to disagree and carry on listening to whatever it is that we enjoy, good or bad

I wonder what music you listen these days.
I like Miles Davis, especially the time he had Kenny Garrett on alto sax.

I already listened to yours, and quite liked it. I have fairly eclectic taste. My original point wasn't aimed at you anyway, but somebody else.

The original question was, "The last album you listen?" "Kinda Blue" was the last complete album I checked out (every track). However, I 'still' listen to individual "classic" Jazz artists -- especially pianists. The usual suspects; Hancock, Garland, Evans, Powell, Peterson, Monk, Garland, Jarrett, Corea, Jamal, (and let's not forget Camilo) etc. Conversely, there are some really impressive young Jazz pianists on today's jazz scene that have captured my ear (both male and female): Gerald Clayton, Danilo Perez, Kris Davis (female) Jason Moran and Terry Eigsti (to name just a few emerging young talents keeping the genre alive).

Danilo Perez, John Pattituci & Brian Blade: Children of the Light Trio:

I was thinking the same thing. Who are those names people are writing? What about Madonna, Celine, Mariah, Michael, Nirvana or Rihanna, Beyonce, Adele, Coldplay etc... Are these garbage in their opinion? Lol...

Garrett is still active today, and is a very underrated sax and flute player. Glad you mentioned him. Here he is playing with Miles on a little number called, "Tutu". Miles, as always, is the definition of "cool", and Garrett is hanging right in there playing flute:

these are some of my fave threads where we get exposed to stuff we may have missed.. or just never knew about,

some really good stuff here guys... thanks

there is so much music available.. and all we have to do is take it or leave it.. no need to be objective or subjective, just
indulge your own taste, and don't force everyone to listen to your "crappy" music...

still remember long ago when boom boxes were huge,
and carried on guys' shoulders as they walked around town, blasting their tunes ! :hillbilly:
