This is now out of order. Pass 13 very very close. I think you can now push the hats.
There is a nasty thwack! on the toms. Look at the frequency I pulled it out on the snare. The 2768hz. Give that a go and move on to the bass. You could probably put a bit more white noise on the snare.

They know, but only as a band can understand....Theyre not engineers and have no clue about the science and skills that are really involved in this sort of work. Its all magic to them. New render coming. I didnt lopass the bass yet. So you can hear the top it has

Hey this is the other thing I have got going on at the moment. I am designing a Channel Strip for the new Melda Productions Plugin.
Is this overkill or would you use it. It fills a HD screen.

Ok, I cut the toms eq at 2.7khz with a wide q like you had on the snare chain, to get rid of the thwack.
Then I found and killed the resonance on the bass. It was jumping around between 100-120hz so i opened up the q just a little bit.
I also brought the hats mic back up some.

Oh, I also turned up the gated white noise on the snare bus a couple db

Ok pull the bass level back a bit and let the drums breath. Put some more 48hz in. Push the hihat more and maybe automate it so its loud when its tight but soft when its splashy. This will give the track drive. Its sounding really good though.

Send me the preset to [email protected]

Automated the hats and pushed them some more.
Re eqed the bass on both the bass buss and the parallel buss and added more bottom, also pulled the levels back some after I rebalanced the them.

Thats all for tonight. I'll be back tomorrow.
    Thank you Spencer!

    Ok, new pass.

After I opened it back up today, I realized that after I put that chain with the gate on my snare bus. That I wasn't sending the new snare parallel that I used to blend a little of the original signal back into the drum verb return, so I corrected it. I also sent some more of the hats to it as well.
Next, I dropped the rhythm guitars back in and rebalanced them.
Then I put the all the vox back in and readjusted all the levels to work with the drums and bass. I had to tweak the levels on the snare, kick and also eq automation on the toms to get everything leveled out again, but that was expected.
Then, I put the lead gtr back in and put a compressor on the end of the chain to handle the ducking duties after I fed the lead vox into the sidechain input. I got it ducking the lead gtr at 3-4 db.
I still noticed my lead gtr had some volume changes in the parts so I did a little fader automation to bring the lead up in a couple spots and at the end.

Ok The vocals are a bit loud now. Duck the solo with the vocal 2db more.
Try a bit of a hipass on the rhythm guitars. They are blurring a bit. Hi hats should be dry and louder. Otherwise pretty good for me.

Yo make sure you're checking this mix in mono. I just put it in mono and that vocal pops out like a sumbitch. Might help you find the right level to set the vocal level. Just a thought. I'm gonna go sit back down on the couch before Spencer throws his coffee at me...

    New pass

Made some minor tweaks according to Spencer's critique. I'll go check the mono out now.
