I need its bright tone and I know there are so many C7 libraries around so help me to choose the best

 

You really have to try Chocolate Audio Model 7!
Italians not only have good taste for coffee, but for pianos too
It's not only a nice, but also a quite flexible piano that's easy to pull out a bright tone to your taste.
You can mix different mics placed at different positions with the on-board mixer.

The demos sound nice and what about rosewood grand by orange tree samples? any review?

I think Impact Soundworks Pearl is C7.

Does it have to be Kontakt? Because AcousticSamples C7 is IMHO the best C7 on the market right now (and I've tried them all) That goes for any of the Ni pianos, ALL the sampletekk stuff including (TVBO) which I also have, ivory, galaxy, you name it. People continuously suggest pianoteq and my only guess is that they don't have much experienece with a real C7, or many real pianos at all because it's probably the furthest down the list in terms of tone and authenticity.

I got the AcousticSamples C7 on sale during the holidays (they often run sales) and believe it was under $100 which is a complete steal for having a go-to authentic, bright but not harsh, while also dynamic and articulate C7 in your studio. Youtube it, there is a guy who does a more hand-on demo where you can actually get a good idea of how expressive and authentic it is.

PS - surprisingly, the toontrack studiogrand is also fantastic.

If Kontakt is a MUST, I'd give the sampletekk stuff a throw.

i have used pianoteq several dozen of hours (maybe a hundred hours) and I could never get a standalone piano sound that could be mistaken to a real one. Pianoteq is useful for playing live, not recording/using in a mix.

DanielJames, can I send you a midi file to bounce it in place with AS and I'll put the same recording with Production Voices C7 so that people can compare? (and eventually Pianoteq if it's really needed but I can assure it's not so good)

 

I like the overall sound of this library.
But there are some really bad samples in it. i.E. B4 and C5 at high velocity.
Hoping for an update...

 

I've tried many pianos, and I think without any doubt that Production Voices Grand Piano is the best/real Yamaha C7 library.

There's lots of sample velocity discontinuities. In addition some notes at specific velocities sound odd.
So it's really a piano that requires a lot of time and hearing to remove odd samples and find a velocity range where it appears continuous...
On the more positive side, the sound is exceptional, possibly the best, particularly at extreme velocities where others are usually (very) bad.

AS piano seems to have used advanced algorithms to filter and mix samples to get continuity and natural response, maybe an improvment, that's why I was offering a blind test...

 

There's a DIY solution:
Open the Kontakt mapping editor, delete the bad samples on B4 and C5, then extend the range of the neighboring sample (lower or higher, depending on which sounds better) to cover the deleted place. Pitching one sample down or up by a semitone really won't hurt as much as a bad-sounding sample. I've done that with other instruments, it usually works well and does not take too much time.

 

This is CFIIIs not C7.

The best C7 Grand for me is PEARL.
