Orion 8.6 is the latest update and there will no more be any update anymore, cause they dont have much
Interes of if..most of users buy dune and other vst they have,so u cant Even buy orion anymore.

    What i think....its not a popular daw.. Fl studio is 10 year before..reaper 5.
Orion 8.6 is like fl studio 5..no big tools there..
    Pianoroll sucks.is out of date.

    Thats why they let it.

Years ago, I've used it for years. The early versions ran very well on single-core Intels.
The idea of embedding each instrument in its own pattern sequencer is a great approach if you like a pattern-oriented workflow. It had a useful sampler, many instruments that later made it into FL Studio, and it was one of the few DAWs that came with great, production-level demo songs that showed us that even with mediocre built-in FX used wisely, you can get great results.
I still miss its incredibly fast, intuitive workflow.

It was pretty nice and the only real contender to the FL Studio (Fruity Loops at the time) workflow back in the day. It could do different time signatures which Fruity couldn't do.

Only problem is that it constantly crashed. Not sure if they ever fixed that issue, but the instability was a big giant red X to me.

Orion is my diamond in the rough. I can't break myself from it even with the crashes. It's quick, it will host damn near any VST/DX, it's flexible and it was the first music software to combine presets. I hope the new design if it comes to fruition improves on a great base DAW.
