Welcome to the FL Studio 12.3 Beta

Things to test:

• Real-time stretching - Sampler and Audio Clip 'Realtime > Stretch' mode allows you to change tempo and maintain pitch and rhythm in sync with the project AND OR change pitch and maintain sample duration in the Piano roll.
• New Plugins - Transient Processor.
• Plugin updates - Gross Beat - Vectorial UI, Fruity Limiter - Vectorial UI, Love Philter - Vectorial UI, Maximus - Vectorial UI, Sytrus - Vectorial UI + 73 nucleon presets.
• Plugin manager - Plugin Manager and 'More plugins' window GUI updated to match FL Studio
• Mute/Solo locking - Mixer, Playlist and Channel Rack. Shift-Click Mute LEDs to lock them to their current state.
• Lock MIDI notes to Channels - Right-click a Channel Button and select Receive notes from.
• Channel Rack - New menu options, Auto resize - Set the height of the Channel Rack (Off, Min, Max). Sort by- Sort the Channel Rack order (Mixer Track, Name, Color).
• Continuous scrolling - Editor windows scroll continuously rather than jumping. Right-Click the Scroll icon and select 'Continuous scrolling'.
• Piano roll keyboard views - See 'Menu > View > Keyboard style' for new 'Classic', 'Modern' and 'List' views.
• Image-Line Remote feedback - Right-click 'Enable Image-Line Remote' to activate control feedback from IL Remote to FL Studio.
• Open and save dialogs - Now more modern
• Add menu - Contents have been rearranged

Thanks for the heads up ;-) But waiting till the day ImageLine will make it possible to directly record Audio in Audio tracks instead of going thru Edison etc... just a pain in the A*** Don't understand they don't at least this feature and leave Edison there for those used to work that way. I mean Propellerhead did it with Reason after quite some time saying that they didn't see the need and look now Reason can record audio-edit etc.. directly

Gonna write to ImageLine Dev Team for real. We're in 2016 ;-)

 

errr. I've been using the record function since 11 without edison, just select an mic input in a clean mixer channel and route it to it's destination!

 

For reaaaaal? Then gonna have to check FL out and a tutorial on youtube on how to route that ;-) Does that mean that you can also record MIDI without passing by the Pattern box???

you can replace the BigFruit file with whatever png image
then start FL, rightclick on the Help/about ? icon
it will dance to the rhythm of your song

 

Better CPU performance its the only update that they should consider, in my opinion.

 

is there any difference in sound recording quality? better with edison or without? i have external interface.

well actually yeah there is, recording in the playlist is limited to 16 bit and 32 bit

 

Ok thanx last question what is better directly in playlist or in edison?

 

If I need any of the edison features, (it has an excellent Noise removal tool and gate)
I just:

1. Double click a wave-form in the playlist
2. Right click the wave-form again in the sampler panel and select edit
3. Do what I need to do
4. Drag and drop it back in the sampler (U just used it, it is open)

I would've liked a 24 bit option actually, but I still prefer recording in the playlist and settled with 16 bit for normal duties and 32 float for dynamic sensitive material (that never ever happend here.).

Technically you could also preserve everything that is outside the 16 bits dynamic range (96.33dB)
by narrowing it with a compressor on the mixer channel you have selected for recording,

because effects inserted on the mixer channel are permanent and inserted before down-sampling,
This happens at the end of the mixer insert.

additionally, if you route it to something different then master. the wave form on your playlist will route in the same direction

• Freeze Track - freeze/unfreeze a track bounce track to audio
• Auto midi learn - assign pitch bend/mod wheel to controller automatically by default

Forget it. They would not do that. Your request is so limiting to the playlist. Btw, if you need it, simply solo any track you want and hit the record button on the master channel. Be ware that the automation clips need to be active at the time of bouncing.

Look at the playlist as a clean sheet that you're going to sketch your painting on it. Playlist is not sum of tracks like other DAWs. You can put any thing (audio, pattern and automation) on a single track so bouncing any single track is practically meaningless.
