Hey guys I would like to try a virtual singer VOCALOID3AE, I noticed there are more voices for the software now available to us. Has anyone used this in our group? Which additional voices sing in English? Help me if you can. Thanks, Burninstar
vocaloid can sing in engrish? lol but not convincingly Maybe for a scratch track to give the real vocalist a reference. Everything Ive heard sounds unnatural. Usable for dance ect where you can hide it behind the fx. *edit Found this out, It does have a couple english libs. Read something about the engine coming with the expansions now too. lOOk here ......Some critism has come from users of oveseas engines and both Spanish and English voicebanks have been left in the dark facing less promotional coverage than Japanese, Korean and Chinese voicebanks. English and Spanish Vocaloids have constantly been left out of promotions, with Spanish having no further announcements from Yamaha since the Vocaloid 3 introduction. For instance, the CD released for Vocaloid 3 titled "The Vocaloids", which acted a pre-release promotion for the Vocaloid software, did not include any of the English Vocaloid 2 voicebanks and was soley focused on Japanese Vocaloids. The result of the limited promotions is that English and Spanish Vocloids are currently being self promoted in their communties by their own fans. Crypton Future Media's English voicebanks have been well known for over a year prior to the release of Vocaloid 3 and seem to be experiencing the same issues, although due to their large fanbase even in the west, Crypton seem to be coping with this better. A English version of the Vocaloid Store now exists, it was put up in Beta format in Jan 2012; several months after Vocaloid 3 was launched and a month after the launch of the first English voicebank. Both Spanish and English Vocaloids are absent from the store. The previous incarnation of the English Vocaloid website of which the shop replaced had not been updated since Vocaloid release. Some of the issues are that Yamaha of America does not have the rights to market the English voicebanks as soundsonline were said to hold the rights to Vocaloid sales in America. A similair situation occurs in Taiwan due to Ecapsule owning the rights to Vocaloid distribution. -- sG
I've heard some really fascinating works using vocaloid with english lyrics. Check out this song. The english is pretty impressive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz0ts74vQV8
impressive but far fom natural, perfect for dance and fx. But not much else. If it didnt have subtitles I would have no idea what shes sayin. That is some of the BEST dubstep Ive ever heard.
True. It is far from being natural but with the new release of vocaloid 3 it's a huge step from vocaloid2. The realism is becoming much more impressive. Although in Japanese, many who don't know vocaloid might think vocaloid3 was not used for this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCpNVK92YUg

Thanks subGENRE and everyone else for your input, If that is as good as it gets, It may not be worth the download. I wonder if that was version Vocaloid2 or 3? Computer speech and singing has always interested me.

there are very few good english vocaloids out there and it requires lots of tuning to get vocaloids to sound realistic here is a good example:
I was going to ask the same question, but it's a bit confusing right now. I am looking for a female English vocaloid voice for some EDM backing voices. Any recommendations? Which programs do I need? Just the voice or the whole bunch? Thanks in advance.
