I'm curious is there a better task killer for windows 7 than included one.
If we compare task killers from unix based os, there is a option force quit and process is immediately stopped and killed :)
So when I want to kill some process on my mac - just go to quit process, if it has some troubles a new window appear to force quit.
On windows, as everybody knows already, trying to kill some process can be pain. Sometimes reaper or cubase takes up to 5 minutes before process is really killed, after calling kill option.

i am currently using the free Comodo KillSwitch - pretty happy with it.. Also check AnVir Task Manager (free) and System Explorer (free, with most functions of them all, if thats your thing)

On OSX I have been using my own killtasks script which disable lots of different processes which run (or keep running even if the application is closed) in the background.

It's a good way to free up lots of resources. Also it launches a memory flusher tool to free up unused memory. I even designed my own little icon to sit on the dock.

I'm sure something similar could be done with a self executing script from MSDOS.

In Windows, it's quite easy to stop tasks instantly with a batch file. I've just placed the tasks I'd like to stop, in a .bat file and call it with a link from the desktop.

    For normal tasks:
    taskkill /f /IM DTAgent.exe
    For Services:
    sc.exe STOP "AfterFLICS v3"

For convenience I compile the batch to an .exe file (e.g. batchToExe), so that there is no DOS windows popping up.
