I have cthulhu(Arpeggiator) on a channel which contains midi items.

I want to record output of cthulhu channel to another channel. Tried many times but I failed. Finally I opened ableton for that.

Help me doing this in Reaper so I can save my time in future.

    many roads in reaper!
here is the straight forward way:
    - create new track
    - set that track to 'record output (midi)' and arm the track
    - create a send from the cthulhu track to the new track, sending midi only
    - hit record

other methods involve folders but basically do the same...

If i'm not mistaken, it's simpler than that. Cthulu is (first & foremost) a midi FX plug, not an instrument/synth.
Keeping that in mind, the usual practice is to insert on the track 'FIRST' your FX plug or Fx plug chain, then you Insert your VSTi Synth.
All previous plugs in a chain will control or effect the following plug(s).
So the basic idea for you, is this:
    - Insert Cthulu on track (midi type track..... I've never tried this on regular audio track, but supposedly you can)
    - Followed by your choice(s) of instrument/vsti/synth
    - Cthulu will control how the synth's sound is played, with midi data
or actual live midi-controller playing on the track .

reaper doesn't distinguish between audio and midi tracks.
a track is just a track and can play any role...

    that said:
the 'problem' with that concept and cthulhu or any other midifx is that if you already have midi on the track feeding cthulhu,
it's a bit inconvenient to record cthulhu's midi-output to the same track.

    Even simpler, for you:
    - on the Cthulu track, hit the FX button.
    - when window pops up, hit "Fx" Menu, then choose "Add Fx"
    - choose which ever category your VSTi, VSTi3, Instruments, etc. is in
    - click it and make sure it appears in the fx list, underneath Cthulu
    - make sure both boxes on the list are checked
    - hit play and/or render the audio

    An example using Blue Arp

    Renatus...
i guess you are missing the point or misread the question.
this was not about sending midi from cthulhu to another vst but to actually record the midi output of cthulhu.
    or am i wrong here?

You are correct, if his sole purpose is just to switch channels...... My mistake is, I automatically assumed he wanted to do this only to produce, add or change sound using another channel. Previous similar inquiries, I observed, ended up being for that reason.

    @Renatus Deca
I wanted to get midi output from cthulhu so that I can edit the arpeggiated midi files manually.
When I like the arpeggiation in Ableton, I always save it as midi to tweak it manually. Same thing I was unable to do in Reaper.
