Edison can pick up the key of anything from a closed hat to a bass drum. Also fl sample channels even has a tonal function, to give you an even more accurate chromatic tune to your drums if you decide to shift the pitch. Layering tuned drums in FL STudio is pretty simple. I'd suggest playing with the offset option if you're layering a bunch of snares. Every snare hitting on the exact same timing gives you a pretty bland and plastic sound. Giving the snares a millisecond or two of space does wonders.

I think you got it wrong – I didn't make this sample. I just took it from my sample library, because it's basically the same snare as in the OP (just pitched up a bit, EQ'd and added some reverb).

If you want me to design/create a whole range of SDS5 samples (as if there aren't plenty out there already, as above post shows) you will have to pay me. ;)

    Exactly, and you are welcome.
I see two options here. The first is to find a part of the song ( I seem to remember the 12 Inch Version of this had an extended drum section, but that was only from memory. Yes I'm old enough to remember this when it came out) and sample it for your own use.
Option two is to try and find an old Simmons Drum Processor on ebay.

I don't think I am allowed to display an ebay listing but

    http://www.ebay /itm/Simmons-SDS-5-Drum-Machine-WAV-Audio-Files-Samples-SOUNDBOX-CD-ROM-/111935018155?hash=item1a0fd8d4ab:g:CU8AAOSwoudW5X2j

Add the .com above ^^ and I think you might find this could be exactly what you want

Cancel all of that and go here:[
there is a CLEAR sample of the snare you want. I might even take a sample of it for myself. Never know when it could come in handy

Just turn your mono snare sample into a stereo sample Jasmine. Take the source snare duplicate it. Shift the duplicated snare anywhere between 5-25 milliseconds in front of the original snare (the farther the spacing the bigger the stereo effect.) Then finally pan the original snare 100% left and the duplicate 100% right, or vice versa, it doesn't matter. Now all you have to do is either a.) work with both snares in the mix n two different tracks working as one snare or b.) record both snares and save it as one snare in your preset folder.

This is something I put together with a tad of processing using just the drums I sampled from that track. I played about with processing too as the track went on.

    Have a listen.

Oh and the sound wont be as crisp because I haven't mastered it properly for this demo.

Naw it's not new at all, probably the most common stereo conversion method. Just thought that you didn't know and were looking to create a stereo snare sound to help achieve your goal. I apologize if I came off condescending. Just trying to help.

Used to have real Simmons drums.
Horrible stiff plastic pads, very unfriendly for your hands and just not fun for longer playing.
Module sample sounds were typical Simmons though all in all the built quality of todays e-drums is so much better.

Thanks for mentioning VSDSX,never heard of it.
    15 euros?
    Will buy that.

Someone hasn't seen the movie Surrogates.. or wasn't paying attention. Von_Steyr.. you probably have more in common with Keanu Reeves than Jasmine does with that Avatar. Wake up buddy.
