    Hey there.
just saw this video and i was blown away from the quality

especially the 8dio adagio at 7.50 minutes was awesome.

does anyone make scoring and virtual orchestra and could tell me a few things, how to mix that nice stuff, or at least, how i can get this nice violin sound at 7.50 ?
When i play the librarys many frequencies hurts, then i cut them away, but then the sound is muddy and not good anymore. In this video, the single sounds are airy and powerfull, and together they sound bombastic.

Would be really cool, if anyone has some tips for me :)
i have cubase 8.5 and logic

    Thank you very much

Nothing unusual here, pretty basic stuff :)
    Depends which libraries you use,etc?
Cubase is the most suited DAW for orchestra work.
You need to learn basic mixing stuff, positioning and healthy leveling before you can do anything.
    Learn layering.
These libraries are already well recorded, doesnt need that much work imo.
Though its very important to know how to use reverbs here.
You also need to start recording and writing music, you will learn the most with your own trial and error.
    Good luck.

hey, thanks for your feedback. :)
I make trial and error a very long time. too long time :(
It sounds not bad, but it sounds so 2012 :D
When i watch videos from 2012-2013 virtual orchestra, i got that sound.
But the actually videos from 2014-2016 orchestra stuff are so heavy and crispy and awesome.
i searched for a good tutorial, maybe a video where i can watch some stuff. but i didnt find anything.

At first i would be lucky, to get a good sounding violin ensemble. :)

Absolutely! Trial and error = wonderful results (when all is written, played and done).

You might not believe this at first, but until you look into a project file of a score you'll see that it's VERY BASIC mixing. what you're really looking for is good SOUNDS. If you get one of those MIDI pack construction kits that has the midi for the piano, strings, lead etc., you input very basic sounds and suddenly you have a great sounding track. proper levels and eq'ing and you've just [co]created a dope record.

You need reference headphones for orchestra,to see whats going on in the middle/upper freq. regions
and to be able to choose the right instruments.
Something like an akg k612 pro,k701/702 are ideal.
If on budget get samson sr850,sounds similar.
That will first allow you to really hear the orchestra.
Then its the most important thing to do.
    Choosing the right samples.
This eliminates a lot of problems and saves time. This takes some experience.
After that just start recording, violins, cellos, basses etc, position them.
Even though this stuff in the video is basic,it takes experience in knowing what you are doing.
Use good libraries like LASS and add a nice reverb.
    Good luck.

    hey,
thanks for the hint with the headphones.
you are right, i just saw a tutorial (electronic styles) where he changes parameter, which i couldn´t hear.
I have LASS in the library and i like them.

    Thanks :)

    hey there
just got some cool results today.
Not that high end cinematic orchestra, but i like it.
I don´t have monitors, so maybe someone with good ones can say something about it.
Just a few blocks. no bridges or arrangement

    PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE MP3
The zippy player changes the sound

    Thanks :)
