    Hi

I'm having a dilemma as I'm currently producing a track with two bassline, one on synth and the other, 808 sub - different melodies. I don't wanna cloy the track, so I'm considering dropping one off, but just for education sake, could you point out or suggest names of tracks with two basslines, or what you would do in my case.

    Thanks

George Clinton is well known for using multiple basslines with great effect.

Other artist that use this technique with real and synth combinations are Marcus Miller and Donald Fagen
(Steely Dan) to name a few.

No different than using two or more guitar parts, they must compliment each other.

Also consider how an electric piano is used with an acoustic.

CLosest things I know to 2 basslines:

"Nathan Haines - O Misterio feat. Guida de Palma "

from 1m20 - 1m34, there's cellos which poses a question, and then the
    bass guitar
    'reples'

Other songs with >1 bassline, usually bass guitar/synth + long sustains on cello or some other instrument so that the bass notes are separated by transience.
