    Mid Side EQ VS Panning
In this video Echo Sound Works shows you how to use mid side EQ in place of hard pans to create the separation you need in your mix. Great for genres that don’t use a lot of layers and stacks.

    Enjoy :)

This video is retarded.this fully explains why stereo images sound really artificial now though, makes complete sense.the problem with being so heavily reliant on M/S (IT'S SUM/DIFFERENCE not M/S which is a completely different miking technique)is you are essentially increasing the stereo DIFFERENCE of a signal and decreasing its SUM in a static way all this really does is create an unhealthy level of anti-phase stereo information which to me doesn't sound wide as you can't really place where it is.sum/difference eq'ing is something that should be used extremely delicately.despite what these EDM tards tell you this can have detrimental effects on the perception of your stereo image.i guarantee the 1st thing most mastering engineers do on these masters is decode a mix back to sum and difference components so they can turn down the difference.

If you want to get away with a tonne of anti-phased elements (really wide stereo content) you need to have it moving in a controlled way, think of sum/difference eqing as a sweetener rather than the flour and other main ingredients for the cake mix
