This guy has influenced me so much, and I'm sure he has with all of you too.

even if you don't know who he is he has shaped our industry.

RIP George. the best Engineer/Producer ever.

An industry giant who changed the face of popular music, he will always be remembered as a master record producer, arranger, composer, conductor, audio engineer, and musician. The Fifth Beatle who made everything possible.

Thank you for your wonderful legacy and an honorable life well lived.

    RIP Sir George Martin.

Holy shit! The saddest news of the year. His work will live on, as it has for the last 50 years.

. . . at 90 years of age. So young. Yeah, his influence upon popular music and the art and craft of recording cannot be overestimated. Of significance to me is that the recording of the Beatles' song "Tomorrow Never Knows" (1966) had been, itself, a significant influence upon the likes of Brian Eno and others of his peerage; as much as, say, the first Velvet Underwear album had. There's this ripple effect of influential resonance throughout the past 50 years, upon successive generations, originating from the Beatles' recordings, all produced, arranged and sometimes played-on by George Martin.

Among other things, he was often considered being the 5th Beatles.

    What a year...

Without Sir George Martin's guidance, much of the second half of the Beatles discography could have been recorded as jibberty jabberty. Hat's off to Sir George. A most talented gentleman.

We've lost so many "titans of music" during my time on this planet. George Martin certainly ranks among the best within that rare group of men and women. He's left an extraordinary legacy that will endure well beyond our lifetimes.
