Hey guys,

Did you notice that the latest Waves compressors now talk with Studio One's gain reduction meters?

So far, I've only tested the CLA series ones, but I guess all other comps should have this feature now.

Yep! Studio One rocks! And with the integration of Celemony Melodyne 4 it is a fantastic DAW for manupulating vocals and stuff.

 

Never got Melodyne working in any recent release

 

It works, but only the VST3 version. Give it a try.

 

Gosh, I hope all that talking to the meters can be muted, at least on export! I wonder if it can be routed to a separate buss? First they introduce noise into plugins and then they make them talk. Damn.

did you got melodyne 4 work on ARA I try with melodyne 4 but melodyne don´t detect the plugin so they ask me for install when i ask for edit, so i downgrade to melodyne 2 witch work grate with studio one ARA, actually the melodyne 4 in the plugin version is much different than the V2

 

Yes, I did. The VST2 version doesn't work but the VST3 does. Just make sure you point S1 to your VST3 directory.

Anyway, if you're on Windows 10, running S1 as admin and in "compatibility mode" with Windows 8 has fixed all these issues so far. Give it a try.

I read the Fabfilter C2 and Softube plugs are doing this too, have not personally tested but you might want to try as well.

The Softube plugins definitely do it. I thought I was seeing things at first. Dorian, on the mixer window in S1, on the individual track meters, you'll see the gain reduction right next to the level meter dipping down from 0db as the gain is reduced.

I'm a Cubase user and I've never heard of a feature like this.

 

whoooaaa S1 is getting more interesting day by day,
ara melodyne 4 and this reduction metering make it very attractive alternative
for all non hip-hop projects, especially less gifted or untrained vocalists that fluctuate a lot in level and pitch
