I'm looking to purchase a good turntable for 300 or less. It's main use will be for sampling off vinyl. I'll also be doing some light scratching (think Dj Premier type) for intro's and hooks but the main function is getting the record to my computer with the best sound quality possible. Not gonna fins a tech for that price unfortunately... You want a direct drive table for with good torque. Here are a few that might do

That Audio-Technica will do what you need it to do.
Might just want to upgrade the stylus sooner or later.

Best sound quality possible usually means big $$$ in our line of work but for sampling that turntable will do fine.
What @Soul1975 said about the stylus/cartridge is true, and I wouldn't wait because the ATP-2 really isn't great.
My recommendation is the Stanton 890 if you like it traditional and the Ortofon Nightclub E if you like integrated systems.

The one and only turntable is Technics SL 1200. You can find it on ebay in decent conditions (used) starting from $400
