The 9.61 waveshell has Butch Vig,eMo D5 and Sapphira but those are the only ones i'm having problems with.
I'm on windows 7 64 bit.Every time i try to load it says something about one or more of the artist dlls are missing yet,i've installed and uninstalled numerous times.Deleted all folders associated with it and cleaned the registry.Odd thing is,they worked before.
    Does any have a fix/advice?

    Thanks

For me it was just retrying multiple times. Make sure you do an uninstall, remove any left behind folders,
edit the registry and restarting computer before trying to reinstall Waves.

In the registry editor, do a search for 'Waves' with the 'Match whole string only' option unchecked.
This will help you find some hidden entries linked to the Windows audio engine and direct sound (Direct X). This finally allowed me to use the V9 R30 patcher and load the aax version.

    Thanks for the help quadcore64.
I uninstalled cleaned the registry(manually) and used cCleaner a few times but still can't get those to show up.
For some reason i'm getting an error about missing artist dlls but i can't seem to find a fix.
Guess i'll just have to do without those 3 for awhile.

Soul1975 and quadcore64: I have exactly the same issues with waves v9r30, and I apologize for my lengthly response, but I feel it needs to be said.

I have tried every possible fix ever suggested that I could find anywhere on the web ( including translating posts on French and Russian sites.lol) but no one has come forward as of yet with a definite fix. May be human error ( some have said thete are issue for them using legit versions) hardware related (lan card?), Visual C++ 5, or even a video card incompatibiity problem from what my research has seen so far. I don't think it is patching or license issue in general as many different systems have the same issue. I think something else is causing the dll shell not to see the v9 waves folder with those two actual plugins in our systems, but what???

Strange thing is Emo5 works fine ( which shows me that the shell is kind of working) but both cobalt and vig throw the error. Used a vst wrapper/loader that was suggested in a post on the sister site when discussing this issue and both plugins will open, and you can even change presets in vig, but cobalt will let you change once ( or not at all ) and then crashes my daw (reaper, but same results with others like cubase too). My system is a 3200 series intel quad core, nvida 210 card, 32gb ram and w10 pro OS.
If any one has solved this help would be greatly appreciated by those of us that remain stuck on this. With me it is not even so much that I can't try the plugins, but that I can't figure this out. A bit of OCD here too.

I have been able to solve most any computer/ software issue I havevever seen in past. Alas, I do not know how to decompile and or read or write code and do not wish to spend years on that when I would rather make music!!

Maybe if one of our members could upload a working 9.61 shell for the proper os 7 or 10 for us to try we can move on. If not, then at least someone who understands coding/ programming and dll functions better could explain to us what is likely happening here and maybe set us on the right path to understanding why we have this problem, and with that maybe fix it too.

I enjoy learning how to solve computer problems in general and passing on that info to others who may not have the same "Sherlock" in their nature. I see that other members on both AZ and here do to, so let's put our heads together and solve this bitch!

    Thank you in advance :)

    @Hoggsfeller1
LOL.........i know exactly how you feel.I've looked high and low, searched everywhere and came up with the same answers you have and still nothing. And it's not even so much as me using them on a regular basis,it's more about me having a (computer related) problem that i can't solve. My brother kids me about having o.c.d but he might be right. This is driving me crazy and i've worked on fixing it more in the last few weeks than i have actually spent making music.
Hopefully someone has a fix because it's driving me insane.

    Soul1975 :Ditto bro. O.C.D. rules!!!

Let's stay in touch and maybe figure this out together:)

What is your system? Have you tried looking at your system error logs to see what they say? I am pretty sure the shell is not looking in the right place for the plugins. Someone suggested moving the actual folders in the v9 waves program files in to your vst plugins folder, but that did SFA too. Try googling "v9r30 vig not working" and go to that Russian "tracker" site and translate it and see if that gives you anything I may have missed.

(Mods, I hope I haven't stepped on any lines here with that suggestion.)

Let me know if you make any headway.

ps: what kind of tracks do you create? I'm doing instrumental multi-genre stuff right now with my songwriting partner. Tons o fun..

    Peace and brotherhood :)

    Indeed.
Like they say 2 heads are better than 1.And 2 O.C.D heads, well, that's when magic happens lol.
    But i'll keep working on it,actually i have no choice.But i'm running windows 7 64 bit,i7,Service Pack 1 with 16 gigs.
It can't be the system because version 29 worked flawlessly.

I'm an East Coast Boom Bap type of guy so all of my stuff is done on the MPC and then tracked out into P.T which i like the workflow and a few plugins not working wouldn't be that big of a deal to most people but i'm losing sleep over it.LOL

Hopefully i can get it worked out,and if i do i'll pass on the info.I did notice those side by side errors/events in the event log earlier but still haven't put it all together yet.The C++ and redistributable trick didn't work but i'll keep plugging away, for sure.

    Peace

Whoa nelly... you had vig and cobalt working in 29? I had vig in 25 and 27, but never got it or cobalt to load up after that because of the error with 29 or 30. What did you patch 29 with? May be a clue here.... what is your video card? I saw something about Nvida cards having issues in the change logs just posted on the waves site for the Feb15/16. I somehow think if we had more current updates our problems would go away. Lol

Love to hear your tracks sometime and share mine when they are done( remixing right now). My stuff is more guitar oriented, but lots of twists...

    Thanx!

It is a conflict with Microsoft visual c++
So i dl latest vcredist from microsoft site
Install both x32 and x64 but it didnt help
But i found that in the Waves install folder (c:\Waves\Program Files (x86)\Waves)
There is a folder named Utilities that have some older vcredist exe files
Those folders are called 2005 , 2012 and Intel and there is also another exefile called 7za i installed all of them but no luck

Then i try the newest Vcredist installer again BUT instead of install it i UNINSTALL it and also those in the waves utilities folder

Then i install all those exe files in the Waves utilities folder i installed every one even the 7za exe file (dont know if it was needed?)
    And then it worked.

With 29 i just used the patch that was in that version.
They were up and running last i checked but when i switched to 30,they stopped, even when i tried to go back to 29,they wouldn't load. Not sure why though.I plan to update my video card shortly because honestly, that's the weak link in my system. It's a nvidia 610.

Thanks Guitarmaniac64,i'll have to give that a try.

GuitarManiac64...........i don't know you,so don't take this the wrong way BUT..............

    I LOVE YOU MAN!

I have no idea why i didn't think to do that but i went through each of the redistributable folders that came with Waves.
    Uninstalled,then re-installed(each)even those IA-32 and 64 versions and like magic,they all load,no problem.
I used P.T 12 and 10 and both load all 3 (mono and Stereo).

You're a genius and my new favorite person on the planet.:mates:

Hi Guitarmanic64, sorry but I don't quite exactly get what you did.

Did you just uninstall all the C++ related files only located in the waves program folder and reinstall them fromthe same files without uninstalling Waves it's self? Do I have to get rid of anything else related to visual c++?

If you could be so kind to provide a step by step of exactly what you did. I knew that c++ might have something to do with this but never thought to actually go that far.

Kudos to you for solving this annoying problem and saving us poor O.C.D. sufferers from many more sleepless nights!

    Thanks in advance:)

Lol. My video card is worse 210. But for audio purposes it seems to be fine. I only use my machine for recording so don't need a gamer level card ( yet). Glad you got yours to work. I will try mine as soon as I get a bit of clarification about what you and guitarmanic actually did.

    Cheers!

    Just to clear it up......

Go into your programs folder, wherever you installed Waves,go to utilities folder.
You might have 2 or 3 folders, start with 2005,open the first vcredist (x64)and uninstall it,once it finishes, immediately reinstall it.Do the same thing with the next one, should be x86.
Next folder should be 2012 do the same thing, uninstall x64,immediately reinstall.
    Uninstall x86,immediately reinstall.
If you have the intel folder,do the same.

    Now give it a go.

Soul1975 ...Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shout it from the mountain tops and spread the word to all us poor tortured souls.

    This worked like a charm!!!!!!!!

I cannot thank guitarmanic64 or yourself enough for solving this for me. This is what community is all about.
I will have a listen to your tracks tomorrow and upload a couple of finished ones for you as well once I have cleared it with my partner.

Love you both as brothers for your kindness.

May you both live long and prosper:)

Edit:I think Saphira sounds wonderful now that I can finally hear it. Well worth the wait!
