As stated in the heading, the idea of this thread is to post covers made by bands and artists but performed in a different style or way than originals.

On the top, the original one, followed by its cover(s).

If the original song was already posted by a member, you can quote/reply to it or put the post link that containing it, then add the cover.

Please, avoid to post personal cover, remix, mashup or all youtube web artists cover. The aim of this thread is to discover some good artists and different version of songs. I think all those lol metal cover or big breasted girl cover (I anticipate because I see it coming) don't fit the concept I created this thread for.

I hope you understand what I mean. Thanks

I love this concept, being a big fan of hearing different interpretations of the same song. So I offer an interesting list of (mostly) oldies but (all) goodies:

    1) Respect: written and initially performed by Otis Redding before being definitively interpreted by Aretha Franklin.
    2) Woodstock, written and recorded by Joni Mitchell then redefined by Crosby, Stills, Nash.
    3) Satisfaction, with the Rolling Stones vs. Devo.
    4) Tears of a Clown, a la Smokey Robinson vs. the English Beat.
    5) Bizarre Love Triangle, New Order vs. Frente.
    6) All Along the Watchtower, stolen from Bob Dylan by Jimi Hendrix. (I read about a showcase of some sort a few years ago, featuring Paul Shaffer and Bob Dylan among others, during which Dylan tried to play his two-chord version of Watchtower while most of the other musicians broke into Hendrix' three-chord version.)

There are obviously many, many, many others...

Now, two startling different versions of Psycho Killer, both nominally performed by Talking Heads...

In this version, David Byrne apparently forgot to inform the rest of Talking Heads to join him on the stage...
