About how to organize this, these are the ideas I can offer:

    - Yes we need a deadline . Say Sunday , 6 March ?

    - We should concentrate on one synth, then next time another, as the first idea was about Spire, let's stick to this first.

    - We should use a basic naming codification for the presets, like : BA = Bass, KB = Keyboard, LD = Lead, PD = Pad, PL = Pluck, PRC = Percussive, SQ = Sequence, SY = Synth ...

-We should agree on a certain average level for patches, to make things easy, we can create a reference patch that can be used as a standard to compare with the patches that we create so we can maintain level consistency through different patches (even if some patches may, for aesthetic reasons, be a bit softer than others).

-I'm not sure that the vote is a good thing, it's so subjective..

I think March 6th sounds perfect. I figured a month would be about right. So unless someone has a problem with that, I think we should move forward with March 6th as the deadline.

As far as preset naming goes, I agree on the prefix idea. I'd also like the creator to somehow be named. 2 ideas: we could use a silent preset named their desired username and all of their patches follow; or we could have the patch itself include the name like this "ARP - Sweet Arpeggio (Vangelis)".

Oh and I think a reference preset will work well for referencing the desired loudness of the presets. We will have to put up a preset for everyone to use.

And we can kill the vote idea and just let the contributors self-regulate the quality. Honor system.

as for the final use of the presets, what really count when using it is to get rapidly the sound your looking for at a certain point, I agree that the name of the programmer should be as a suffix , better than made a category, so we could have basses together, even if done from several programmers

About preset quality, I suggest that the most important thing for elimination will be the loudness, with Spire you can saturate a sound without pushing it louder, so we can use the visible loudness on it's screen.

So if we star now, where should we send the presets?
Who is really going to participate?

Introninja indicated there may be something in the works for sending the presets (mysterious). Failing that, people can PM me a download link to their presets. :)

Right on Iceman. I'm doing the same. I have about 10-12 that I think are pretty decent so far. :)

I love to play with soft synthesizers. I have never used this plugin for my tracks because I generally prefer freewares.

So.. for new experience, I'll definitely try to make some sounds using recommended version of the synth from sister site.

I really appreciate this community effort.

    Commendable initiative, @Army of Ninjas

    Just an update:

As the deadline for submission is March 6th, I will be sending a private message to everyone that posted a message here (to remind them of the deadline) very soon.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. My own part is nearly completed. :)

yes, this is about the best you could hope for from a free synth. as great as their other freebies, podolski and zebralette. n6 does fantastic bass sounds among other things...

As far as I know, free u-he plugins won't mess with anything (unlike tone2). Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyone else just upgrade and not be able to use their patches from the previous update? I made some pretty decent patches too.

Are you using v1.0.20.R2 to make your patches (as the rules state)?
