Seems that this isn't getting much interest here. It is indeed a kickass guitar plugin. One of the best I'd say.

 

Just a guess but perhaps cos of the 1991 UI?

 

I've seen old tattered amps that sounded glorius. Crappy gui or not it's the quality of the amp sim. This company had produced decent things in the past. I'm curious because it's not all metal amps.

Funny, because the ampsim with the best GUI is also one of the worst sounding. People are supposed to use their ears, but hey...

Anyway, there is no demo up yet so it's unlikely they move much air until then. I got the Modern Classics I pack since I got it as an update from Recabinet and it's freakin' awesome. I really want to try the vintage models, but I'm not buying anything else until I can demo them.

Just wanted to tag you and ask you about the GUI
Damn you're fast on the draw.

 

Perhaps the low sales have provoked an early major new release.

Too early in my opinion. People says it sounds great out of the box, though, specially metal lovers.

 

i still waitting for the demo to come up and personally i don't care about beautiful gui if the sound is there..well i don't care for a real life logo just to make me feel better .... the gui can look just like that if sounds good...

i think the op was refering to audio demos..since the product don't have a demo to download yet... i read fast too..and tought the demo was ready at first...

Kazrog updates Thermionik to 5.0.3 - Offers free demo

Kazrog has released a free 14 day trial version of their flagship amp modeling plug-in suite, Thermionik 5. The suite comprises models of 25 different amps, with each channel and control of the specific hardware represented.


Version 5.0.2 r2. This update addresses complaints about the gain ranging of the front panel Gain control on all models, further refining control for a wide variety of input levels and styles of playing.
Changes:

• Smoothed gain ranging across all models and sanity checked all factory presets for more predictable results on a wide variety of audio interfaces, guitar pickups, etc

Other than this change, Thermionik 5.0.2 r2 is identical to version 5.0.2.

Version 5.0.2. This is a recommended critical bug fix update, and contains major stability improvements.
Changes:

• Comprehensive stability improvements in all hosts, resolving all known crash conditions from previous Thermionik versions in hosts including (but not limited to) Sonar, Logic, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, and Reaper.
• Increased upward gain range so even more brutal distortion tones are possible, without sacrificing the headroom and control that was added in the last update.

Known Issues:

• Automation of parameters the change the amp’s state (such as channel and toggle changes) does not work properly at this time, in that the audio stream does not refresh to the amp’s current state (despite the plugin’s UI reflecting the changes.) This will be addressed as soon as possible.

Version 5.0.1. This is a recommended critical bug fix update, and contains many improvements over the initial release from last week. A free demo version will be released soon, with a separate announcement when it goes live.
Thermionik 5.0.1 release notes:

• Crashes that have plagued many hosts in a variety of conditions have been eliminated completely.
• Gain ranging/calibration of the entire set of 25 current amp models has been improved massively, with increased versatility (can go clean even on a lead channel, the entire range of gain knob is more meaningful/usable), control (10x the number of control points), and full backward compatibility with existing presets.
• Mid gain sounds on various vintage amp models are smoother due to recalibrated vintage tube algorithms.
• Factory presets have been re-leveled to prevent clipping.
• Impedance curves in the power sections of Psycho A, Psycho B, Damage 120, and Duality 3ch have been revised.
• Fixed a bug where a loaded preset may not be recalled when re-opening a session in some DAWs.
