Here`s something that i always try to make : recorddeep.radio.net
Im about to buy a synth ! After alot searches i realise that :
SERUM is the best synth but i want to hear your opinion too

They're all good. I find that if you're into designing unique sounds you can have more fun with Massive, Serum or Spire, but Hive and Sylenth (I think HIVE is actually supposed to be a u-he version of Sylenth?) are great for making "common" sounds that sound great.

Massive, Serum and Spire use wavetables right? So they're a bit different than Hive and Sylenth. Are you familiar with using wavetables?

But really there are so many options that most synths you've heard of and some you probably haven't are plenty good enough. You can't really go wrong with any of them.

BTW don't forget about FM synths. I'm not 100% sure but I think there is a common house style donky bass that uses FM.. which you'd need to look at Native Instruments FM8 or something similar.

OK it kinda depends on experience level... I would definitely recommend Reaktor 6 as you could either design or track down yourself any kind of synth imaginable but obviously that takes a bit of a higher level of experience. On the other end of the spectrum is Sylenth which sounds incredible but is much easier to learn and is really laid out well. Serum is another one that is a tweakers dream but some people may not prefer that. The good thing is that most of these synths are great in their own way and its just a matter of one's personal preference and experience.

Circle is wavetable too, you can try it.

Some real synths (subtractive, not wavetable):
    Guda Euterpe (simplistic)
    Synth1 (FREE like MySQL http://www.synth1.com/ )

If you are familiar with different type of synths and you know how to get around with them and what they do and how they do it, the rest is a matter of "do they (plugins) do in terms of features what you need them to do?" I found myself quite at home with Harmor and Sytrus that came with the complete package of FLStudio. But even, what you can do in one synth, if you know what you are doing, you can do it in others of the same kind without hesitation. So the choice will not only depend on you but it will depend in 2 aspects; features and sound (the sound part is not practically important, nothing that with eq you cannot solve, but there is a lot of people who give this point way much more importance than it should). One example is; I love operator in Ableton, but what takes me back to sytrus in fl is the fact that the unison voices in Ableton are not quite what I desire (there is only a spread knob that doesn't quite do the trick for me) and in Analog (compared to Harmor) your are not only limited to 6 voices at unison but you are not in control of their spreading, phasing and tuning aspects.

Right on the topic. Serum is kinda like a Swiss knife, you can do about everything in there, even fm; it works as a Wavetable, but additive, subtractive and fm are not discarded there; and the best selling point is that everything is visual, every routed knob, waveform, controller, etc is visible right there in action. So for me is a nice go-to.

Yes Audiowolf , im using a synth that called A.N.A but you cant do so many things
ecxept that its very heavy synth for the cpu so i suggest to you all not to buy it .
I know about FM8 synth ofc , its not sounds too rich for me (the sound) like serum
I mean from the tutorials that i see, ( i made my room isolate and buyed proffesional monitors (JBL LSR 305) before some months and now i think its the time to buy the synth)
    thanks for you answer

Before some years i started to make music with Reason and FL (rewired), then i moved up to cubase and now im using ableton !

The Iceman , i have some experience, idk a lot about reaktor but sylenth was the synth that i was ready to buy, i read many things about it , after many searches i said serum cause sylenth ok .. its easy to learn.. but what about serum ? big priority for me that you can SEE the sound, actually i think you can learn easier on serum ! thank s for your answer but why you say some ppl may not prefer that? i just want to know and the bad things about it

TwinBrother , i use operator only for sub bass lines and nothing else , just a sine wave
Yes have spend hours to make some synths there too but it not sound like i want
always kinda muddy when i eq it kinda lose all the depth.. i can hear big difference on my monitors from a synth to a synth, when i was downloaded sylenth beta i was like: wtf , i defenetly must collect money to buy this ! Thanks for your answer

About reaktor Mr Mundano i saw some tutorials and something is not feet to me
i saw deadman in the studio was working with that but he was working with serum too :)
I think the time that i will spend to learn it will be double than serum !
    thanks for you answer too

Massive is incredibly well put together, envelopes and stepper are still the best, but too few filters imo and no custom waveforms. I hate to leave Massive behind because I know it so well, but Serum is more flexible and future-proof. Sylenth1 is old school subtractive, probably the purest sounding of them all, not to mention the super classy Zebra (from uhe, this is the one I'd pick). Still, custom waveforms beats all - Serum wins for me.

Gotta give Steve Duda both thumbs up for being so active with his customers, and improving things all the time.

Don't forget Reaktor and Synthmaster, if you have the time to get into those beasts I'm sure they can be very very rewarding.

Oh I didn't mean anything bad about Serum at all as I love it to be honest but what I meant was that some people like a more simpler interface and straightforward controls. There is a ton under the hood with Serum and from reading your responses it seems it might be your best choice. Why don't you go to our sister site and download the full working version and try it out for awhile to see if it fits what you need. If it does fit your needs then buy it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all if you end up purchasing it.

Yes dashfish , serum wins for me . Im a little preset fun, usually i take a preset of someone else and there is where i put my hand to work, synthmaster kind more of trance .
Yes Iceman , i already heard how the synth sound , one bad for serum is that it not have many presets online if we compare it with massive but take a look at this :
