Earth, Wind & Fire founder Maurice White has died at the age of 74.
White's health had declined in the last few months as a result of a long battle with Parkinsons disease, which had plagued him since the 1980s and forced him to stop touring in 1994.
White founded the legendary funk-soul band alongside his brothers Verdine and Fred and served as the song's chief songwriter and producer. He shared vocal duties with lead singer Philip Bailey. The group's hits include "Shining Star," "Sing a Song," "September" and "Boogie Wonderland."

Great humanitarian, Great Musician, Innovative Record Producer. Incredible man. A true one of a kind.

seems we are at that time....another great one gone

 

One and only Maurice, great drummer, singer, band leader RIP!

 

Great musician, who as a producer innovated production techniques of funk music. A force of nature – not unlike those of earth, wind and fire themselves.

 

After such a contribution to the music world, I hope he went straight to paradise.

OMG it raises so many good memories, RIP my friend.

 

Sad to hear, May he RIP and love, respect & condolences to his family, loved one's, fellow band members and peers.
It is shaping up to be a rough couple of months with those that we lost in December, Janaury and now Febuary too,
A loss like this during Black History Month I hope will draw attention to his legacy and what a huge inspiration that band
has had on so many musicians and genres along with sub-genres

Another chapter in the world of music is now closed. What profound memories! Maurice, you will never be forgotten, buddy.

 

My first, REAL musical inspiration... Maurice White, gone. He was a musical genius and visionary on par with the Beatles. The band he assembled was nothing short of amazing and those days are now gone forever, never to be replicated. Rest in peace my friend...
