Hello. It seems when I'm loading some instruments in KONTAKT 5 (like 8DIO and others), it would hang up for some time before showing the samples loading window, while other instruments don't have this problem. I've disabled NOD32 but is still the same thing, no matter how many instruments are loaded. It just hangs up for a while like it is processing something?? Any indication why this happens?

    Regards,
    TnF

The Main Reason That Kontakt Do That because

    For example :

if the library size is 60 GB it will take a little while

if the Library Is 6 GB it will Load Faster

So The Size Of the library Play A Big role & Affect The Timing

Beside the size of free space you have in your hard drive & don't forget if u have a fast computer you will load faster

PS : The Only way to make a library load fast is to convert wav files to NCW Format + All i mention before will help you load faster

Hello. I'm not talking about the actual sample loading! KONTAKT will basically hang up for some time with no apparent reason before deciding to start loading the samples for the instrument!

Your computer/program freezing for a moment means that it has sacrificed its resources allocated to things like gui to finding the huge a$$ library on your hard drive.

You mean kontakt Freeze for a little while and load the library after that

so make sure you have those 3 things on your computer & you will solve this problem

    1-LAST VERSION OF KONTAKT 5.3.1
2-AT LEAST 8GB OF FREE SPACE ON YOUR HARD DRIVE (C):
    3-AT LEAST 8GB OF RAM

if u has this and the problem still exist you may ask Kontakt Guru (Introninja) About another solution

I've had this problem too since I upgraded to the latest Kontakt version. The only thing that helps is Batch resave, but a big library takes hours to resave.

Could you please tell us how many samples your programs do contain?
I've just done quite some work in Kontakt 5.3 and 5.1, and I see the exact same thing happen when programs contain loads of samples (say, at least 5000-6000 samples), although after re-saving, they load almost instantly. To me it seems that it hardly makes any difference if the program's samples total size is 500MB or 10GB.

Actually this issue has nothing to do with library size and/or HDD free space *no* .
It's about how much samples are found in one nki/nkm and the type of indexing used. Pre 4.2.x versions indexes differently than 4.2.3+, so it might take much longer to load anything. The 'hang' you mentioned is likely an incompatibility problem that occurs with K5.2.1 and 5.3.0 while loading patches generated by earlier versions (in these it took forever to load anything), luckily in 5.3.1 it's fixed.
Resave will likely help, but remember to backup your patches before doing so. Kontakt doesn't support nki rollback

While a faster CPU will help, it's neither the answer nor the solution to this issue.

    +1
    Install last Kontakt.
Backup your non-sample banks files (nki and such)
    Batch resave your banks.

    Agree with andrew and pipotron
batch resave will solved your problem, but make sure you have backup your original NKI and NKM *yes*

Hello guys! I own an ASUS G73A1 (i7, 8gb ram, 3tb external disk through sata) and running latest KONTAKT (5.3.1). Turns out doing a batch resave will improve some libraries a lot (imperfect samples), while others will still have a significant delay but much smaller. I guess I can't help it more but batch resave certainly helped a lot! If there is anything else I can do please mention it, but I think is just because of the libraries (generally the ones that are not designed/certified by NI). I'll check some more and post back. Thanks again!

UPDATE: Sometimes batch re-save is not successful in the way it fucks up my instruments; particularly 8dio libraries..It messed up ZEUS completely.

Man, I didn't want to start a new topic, so I dug up this one. But I recently searched for an solution for kontkakt freezing some seconds after loading an instrument and I found this

1 go into the options panel.
2 select the load import tab
3 untick unwind automation(its the fourth option)
4 untick force load pre 2(the fith option)

and it worked, it even loaded faster then ever, so I hopped to another hardware setup today and tested the same method and what turns out? it cuts the loading time in half!

I have the exact same problem. Mine, however, didn't seem at all an issue on the Mac. I recently switched to PC and copied all my sounds to an NTFS drive (7200rpm) and loading is interminably slow. Not the actual loading, but a good two to three minutes before Kontakt even begins the loading procedure, it just hangs. I tried Batch resaving but that didn't seem to help. Any other solutions would be great!
