I have Phalanx that I purchased legit, and I'll admit I haven't stumbled across anything else other than Nexus2 that's similar to it. I'd look into UVI Falcon or something?

GEiST, that I used to use a lot before I got my mpc studio, gives a good amount of control over enveloppes, it is a really good drum sampler so I recommand...

 

Totally agree , GEIST is the best sampler to shape one shots. It is not perfect and many things could be more easy, but there is simply no other sampler like this at the moment. Second choice is Battery and after that AIR Transfuser.

One great thing about Geist / Transfuser is that you can sample while producing.

 

i still use guru is the frist version of geist
there are alot more vids on youtube about geist so you should give the new version a try.
just a few things it can do
you have 8 mixers with 16 pads on each mixer and each pad can be layerd 8 times
you can then setup each layer amp env ,A,S,R ,tune, reverse ,gate ect
and comes with a load of fx is endless what you can do with it
also drag drop loops from daw window,chops loops into kits,drag drop loops into mid format
onto your daw piano roll.keeps all loops in time like live.
ho and then it hads 48 scenes you can save, is like a snapshot of changes you make of each kits pattern,so you can remix with them on the fly.

Phalanx is really cool but it's a little pricey and the Vengeance Plugs for me haven't ran great mac wise . They run ok but you can tell they are PC developers in my opinion.
