Free Demo - We even format your disc for free!! :woot::rofl::dont:

Is that for real? Wow. I was thinking for years if this exact fail could take place... I guess everything is possible after all!

I doubt anyone will dare to test this; even after it's "fixed".

I think I found a demonstration of the uninstall procedure (maybe even the install?):

U.S.A. Pentagon eggsheads could planning to use Lumit Audio stuff as cyber-weapons against ISIS computers.

Maybe it looking rather simplistic and silly acted as a good deterrent after all... Phew. Thank God (or the universe or whatever) for sandbox and VMs. I wouldn't have tested it with a normal install, anyway. But now I'm wary even of that. They must be terrorists. :bleh:

With the exception of Studio One and Bitwig (which jacked up the Ableton Live interface from the start), I can think of so many DAW which looked awful and not ready in their 1.0 offering. So, I'm not even gonna laugh or make fun of this; in time and with new versions they probably can improve with feedback.
Digital Performer, Sonar, Tracktion, Live, Pro Tools, Logic, and many more... all looked terrible and/or limited in their first offering. However, they all were picked up, polished and re-imagine along the way. It's all about starting somewhere and eventually build up from there. I don't see why this couldn't become a legitimate offering in the next couple of years. Good luck to them!

So many hits were created on that DigiDesign PT (Pre-Avid era). So, Lumit can survive the day if they keep working it up. IJS!!!

REAPER 0.999  Last freeware version. I think it's from 2006 or 2007. When I started using it.

When uninstalling TDU (game) there were reports of it corrupting Autoexec.bat on XP, and with PSO (game), there were reports of the uninstalling deleting a lot of other stuff as well. The maker of PSO offered some monetary compensation, but it was somewhat small in comprison to data recovery costs, obviously.

Destroying HDDs on installation? Critical computer frying bugs? Sounds like a DAW from Tone2. Fix that copy protection, guys!

    @junh1024

Yeah, I overstated it a bit. I guess I have read some random crap like that over the years but this takes it to another level. At least in terms of how direct it is and how easily discoverable it seems to be.

Yes, all software can have a bumpy start and stuff will be ironed out gradually but, deleting the entirety of Program Files? Like, seriously?

At least they were quick to pull it.

Lumit Audio has announced the release of Lumit, a Multi-Touch Digital Formatting/Partitioning Workstation for Windows, designed from the ground up for rapid unbridled deletition of Program Files.

Before I read about all the problems I emailed them to find out why there was no download link. Still no reply so it looks like their customer support sucks as much as their software. Another good reason to steer clear even if they come up with a new version.

I'll wait until the issues are resolved with this and then maybe give it a try.
It will probably be more appealing with some richer and darker colours.

OK, so call me stupid but, in spite of what I said previously I downloaded and installed it. However I changed the default directory (Program Files) to a new folder on my second drive. I also installed it through RevoUninstaller so a precise log was kept which bypassed the usual uninstaller. That's actually how I install all my programmes.

Ran the programme which appears to be 32 bit only. It picked up my keyboard and ASIO driver without being told and I recorded a few bars. Opened the editor to see horrible large pink blocks for the notes and couldn't see a quantize option anywhere.

Used Revo to uninstall and nothing else went missing so the uninstall was safe.

Overall verdict - probably useful for beginners if you don't mind the colour scheme and my vst's were easy to find and load, no trawling through menus. Worth a look I suppose but I will stick with Studio One.
